New life for an old MTB

I replaced a broken front derailleur and suspension and this new Deore XT front derailleur shifts very smoothly and my MTB drivetrain feels like new . The chain doesn't hit the rocks much, but I feel like the clutch derailleur is an upgrade that I'll review later, but so far I'm happy with the performance and price.

Pros
  • Sturdy finish
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something

Rear Derailleur - Rear Derailleur

works very well for the price. I had to find a mountain derailleur that could handle a 36T cassette. This derailleur is designed for a 34T cassette but will work with a 10 speed 36T cassette. Why can't they make a 10 speed road derailleur that can run a 36 tooth cassette? I have searched but not found. Mountain Switch is a good second choice.

Pros
  • cool product
Cons
  • mostly ok but...

Smooth shifting and easy adjustment.

I use this on a bike I built on a Mongoose Salvo frame. The bikes I use are freewheel, so 7 speed 12-28 freewheel. Installing the limit screws was easy and there were many adjustments. It is paired with a 22-32-42 crankset up front, a Shimano Altus derailleur and a Microshift derailleur. Switching is smooth and fast. I would recommend this switch.

Excellent mid-range derailleur

I have no idea what clear means so no rating in this category but it is a good mid-range derailleur that works well with my 9 speed cassette is working. I broke my XTR derailleur but didn't want to spend money on such a quality replacement as I had an order for a new bike. It was just supposed to take time for the new bike to arrive and it has handled it well and I expect it will last a long time on my spare bike.

Pros
  • Good item
Cons
  • So far so good

The standard, everything else is measured

Well if you know about bikes then you know that Deore is the benchmark, everyone else is measured. I can't imagine less. Sure, you can go as high as you want, but I still ride a 1991, old Trek 970. It should have a million miles on it. The Deore can be a bit heavier than some of the other high-end offerings you might find on a road bike. But I've raced and for the money I don't think you can do better.

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product

Great for what it can do but it has its limitations

I bought two of these Deore RD-M591 rear derailleurs, used one of them and it does everything I need it to. , very good. But it gets mixed reviews. Commuters, freeway drivers, and hikers who typically ride paved and smooth gravel roads also like this switch, but those traveling up and down a river and up and down steep wooded hills will experience chain bumps and ghost shifts, perhaps because this switch doesn't have a switch. clutch function. Also note that this is a direct mount derailleurโ€ฆ

  • Convenience
Cons
  • Doubt

Tourney TX replaced on 3x8 hybrid bike

I just installed this on my Raleigh Cadent 2 to replace the horrible Tourney TX that it came with. At first I was confused by all the direct mount information. I thought I might need a custom hanger or an extra link. I learned that any derailleur that needs an extra link is included and you can use it depending on the type of suspension and the clearance you need for the largest cog. a bike with a 12-32t cassette, like my Raleigh. This bolted directly to the original hanger and all I had to doโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Minor issues
