Simple and it just works.

Easy to install but as others have said a full port can be finicky. Fills up quickly and doesn't leak. If you have a gladiator it will fit, but the wheel arch cutouts won't fit at all. So far it hasn't been cold enough to completely freeze the bag. I could ride in freezing rain, sleet, sleet, and off-road. I rarely need 4WD, and the extra weight of the bag keeps the truck stable and straight on slippery surfaces. I live in West Michigan where there is a lot of sleet and ice.

Works as intended, durable

I've used it in my Dakota for two winters in New England and have no complaints. It works as intended and shows no signs of wear, although I do put a lot of pressure on it. UPDATE: November 2015 โ€“ A slow leak finally surfaced last winter. Since it was so cold, the frozen contents stayed in place. Water only drained off during longer thaws. I will try to fix it for this winter but I think it might be time to retire after 7 winters with 2 different trucks. Overall I'd say the durability isโ€ฆ

Suretrax meets expectations; Windsor, Ontario, Canada

Wanted to load the rear of my Ranger pickup. Bought cheap hockey bags last winter ($40 for 2 bags), filled with sand and tied to corner hooks with kambakla. Worked great; added about 250 pounds. But over the winter I was struggling to ship DIY supplies/furniture decor (for my wife!) etc. By the time spring came, the bags were worn and slightly torn from the winter moisture, half-frozen sand. and hockey bags were destroyed. So far this bubble is working great; simply fill with water, secure with

ShurTrax works exactly as advertised

I bought this product for my compact pickup a few months ago. The product is excellent. Very easy to use. Filling was a breeze and securing with rubber bands was a breeze. The improvement in stability when driving on wet and slippery surfaces was significant. Without ShurTrax, you used to have to worry about skidding when driving in the rain. ShurTrax has solved this problem. Transporting goods with ShurTrax was also no problem. If I'm carrying something sharp that could pierce the bag, I justโ€ฆ

Great idea, bad materials

I could have sworn I wrote a review for this product, but it's not here. Anyway, I bought my first unit in 2011. It worked as advertised for the first 2 winters, after that it started leaking. I patched it up and used it the next winter but it kept leaking. I survived that winter and bought another one in 2014. Apparently, the company has changed the materials from which the blocks are made. While the one I bought in 2011 was more flexible, this new one was more brittle and stiff. For a fewโ€ฆ

2000 Ford Ranger XLT Extended Cab 2wd

Update 2020: I got Michelin Defender tires for my 2WD Ranger and I no longer use a rear weight. Although this bag looks like new. I just don't use it anymore. Two ice storms and an 8 inch snow storm in one week and I never drove the car other than in the summer. Much better than the junk Pirelli Scorpion tires I had before. My best advice is to get decent tires that fit the bill perfectly. Season (not all-terrain) and you probably won't need any rear weighting at all. Spring 2000 Ford Rangerโ€ฆ
