Great idea, bad materials

I could have sworn I wrote a review for this product, but it's not here. Anyway, I bought my first unit in 2011. It worked as advertised for the first 2 winters, after that it started leaking. I patched it up and used it the next winter but it kept leaking. I survived that winter and bought another one in 2014. Apparently, the company has changed the materials from which the blocks are made. While the one I bought in 2011 was more flexible, this new one was more brittle and stiff. For a few weeks (when temperatures dropped below freezing) spots where the edges curled up where they touched the wheel arches (which is inevitable... I have a GMC Sonoma and bought a Shur Trax for a skid steer). These spots are starting to crack! I can only assume it was a combination of fragile materials and cold weather. I tried to fix it but it didn't work very well. Anyway after 2 sessions for 4 years I'm learning other things like jigsaw puzzles or even playing sandbags, $2.80 for a 50lb bag at my local Lowes store. Who cares if they all pop, at least I only have $20.
