Description of Silicon Power 256GB Gen3X4 SP256GBP34A60M28

PCIe Gen 3x4 interface with read speeds up to 2,200MB/s and write speeds up to 1,600MB/s. TBW=150. The warranty terms on all of its SSDs are based on whether the warranty length or TBW limit occurs first. To support a Silicon Power PCIe SSD, the system must have an M. 2 connector with only an M key. The Silicon Power PCIe SSD does not have a b notch and therefore, the b key on the SSD connector will prevent it from being inserted. The custom screw should come with the motherboard or PC. Please acquire the screw from your motherboard or PC Manufacturer, if needed.

The best value for money NVME on the market!

This item was delivered in 1 day as described via Revain Prime Delivery. The opened box was packaged and protected appropriately for a sensitive device. This is for my startup drive and some frequently used apps/games. Installation was very easy, requiring an M.2 screw and possibly an M.2 motherboard adapter. My MSI XPG X570 already had a threaded riser and screw. Loading time was almost a snap. Works great as described.

Not working for months - RMA process passed

The storage device worked perfectly and exceeded my expectations for the price for a few months, then became unstable within a few days. Inability to boot Windows. An attempt was made to completely reformat and reinstall Windows. I didn't take the HDD, I had to swap it for another SSD to install Windows. I will update this once I've gone through the RMA process. But for now, this drive's short lifespan gives it a star. 9-7-20 Update: An RMA number has been issued, it will be updated when the…

Quick update to my base system

I bought this m.2 drive as one of my first attempts at using an SSD in my desktop. I was also thinking of a stock sata SSD when I bought this stick to upgrade my laptop and also both computers had stock sata hard drives. The m.2 stick runs a little faster. The difference in price from a $28 SATA SSD to a $36 m.2 SSD is worth it. Now the problem I had as a newbie with m.2 drives was configuring this. At first I didn't see the drive in Windows Explorer. I saw it in the bios. So I had to format…

Pretty good for the price

I wasn't expecting amazing performance so basically this drive is what I was hoping for. Considering the price I'd say it's great, but DO NOT expect it to perform as well as some other drives. Compared to the Samsung SSD in my Lenovo P1, this drive could probably be called a dog, but the performance is still very good. I also compared it to my external SSD, which I expected the external drive to get, but got kicked out as it's connected via USB 3.1, and it did. In any case, this is a very solid

Works with ACER Aspire 5 A515-54

Works great with Clonezilla by first cloning the image file and then selecting recovery to copy it to a new drive. Please note that the secret is that you need to remove the OEM M2 SSD from your computer and put it in an external M2 enclosure. Creating an image file when your M2 SSD stays on your motherboard somehow leads to many Win 10 BSOD errors when you try to reboot. I have researched that Clonezilla has some issues with the UEFI type bios present on the Acer A515-54. I spent almost two…

Budget SSD Disappointing

Good specs, good price BUT poor performance. When I used the free Crystal Disk Info utility to check the actual specs and health of this NVMe SSD, I found that right out of the box it had already lost 1% when I first used it after cloning a 40GB drive onto this new SSD. Of his life. ! This is unacceptable. On the second day, after several restarts, he used ANOTHER 1% of his life. These drives die slowly at 1% per day and only last about 3-4 months with normal use! It's outrageous. If you want a

Quick and easy, but not 256GB!

This item arrived on time and well protected in a Prime Bubble Manila envelope (now standard). The indentation used to hold the drive in place was too narrow in my opinion; I had to be very careful not to break it because the disc is quite thin but not flimsy. Once out of the box, it was pretty easy to install on the motherboard and easy to initialize and format in Disk Management. Then I prepared it for use as the boot drive on my new computer. I used Macrium Reflect's free homemade disk…

Pros
  • I've always loved it
Cons
  • Too long to wait

I wasn't expecting much as this is one of the cheapest NVME drives out there, but I was amazed when I ran a speed test , it was much faster than the original drive on my 2017 MacBook Air. . By the way, to fit this into a MacBook Air, I had to use an adapter. I personally used one of JESOT's cheapest adapters which was $6.99 at the time of purchase. I'm crossing my fingers that it's been around long enough that I've made this upgrade due to lack of space using a standard 128GB drive. Disc and…
