Batteries are inserted like the original remote control. Try the volume, power and channel buttons. Nothing worked. The block is warmed up from below. Started smelling like a short circuit. The open battery compartment, removed batteries and circuit board were too hot to touch. Cheap junk, not factory tested.

Terrible product! Should not be sold on Revain! Dangerous! Do not buy. Should have read the reviews before buying. The initial installation of the batteries in the bay failed. I went to read the programming instructions and when I returned to the remote it had heated up and the battery compartment had melted. Stay away!

When you open the battery compartment you will see two springs on the bottom and NORMALLY for any other use the NEGATIVE end of the battery will always slide over the spring end. NOT THIS TIME. I was lucky I saw in the questions "see. pic #3" and of course the batteries are mounted where a positive end goes on the spring. THEN the remote worked. Before ordering, I confirmed that this remote control is compatible with my Vizio TV. Received, put new batteries in desired configuration and nothing.
