My problem was solved in less than a day.

I didn't give that up right away. I had one that was twice the price. It's taller but thinner. The foster cat could really knock him out. It scratched the bed so I put it together. I think the appeal is that it's so much broader and almost talkative. I stuck it in front of the bed and the problem was solved. I placed the thin foam from the pack under the base of the two posts to help them hold onto the wooden floor. They don't move much at all. I think it was helpful. I am happy about this…

My cat loves this. Lasts about a year.

One of my cats loves it! The other will not touch. Maybe because of her own territoriality or maybe she's just picky. But for my cat who loves it, this is the best scratch! Especially since he's a big boy. My photo is of a new one we just received and my big cat is scratching it up within minutes of putting it together. It is very easy to assemble. It's incredibly durable. Although my cat is strong, he has never pulled it. Another photo of me is what my old one looked like a little over a year…

A fantastic scratching post that looks like a plant stand.

We've had two of these poles (one of each color) for about 3 months now. We have two cats who love to scratch furniture and we needed something they could use to scratch furniture. This. Product. Is. Brilliant. They love to scratch it and we planted a plant on it to make it look nice and blend in with the space. We used treats to get them used to the post, not the furniture, but during the weekdays they go straight to the post when they want to scratch. Both are in excellent condition - the…

My cat actually uses it!

I used to spend money on cheap smaller scratching posts and none of my cats have ever used them. I suspected they might be too short and wobbly, but good ones cost a lot and it seemed like too much of a gamble. But our cat quickly ruined our new sofa and we had to do something! I took a leap of faith and ordered this post. Of course, for the first week or so, she completely ignored it. But I held a post up to where she was scratching and one day she ended up scratching it, I think just out of…

The best scratching post we've found

We now have four cats. A large 5 year old male, only 2 1/2 months old. He had a difficult past life. When we got him he was fickle, biting and clawing at everything in sight, including clawing at two of our leather chairs. (He's getting better and better, but he's still too delicate to clip his claws.) I bought cat double sided tape and this scratching post to try to keep him from damaging our beautiful furniture. He got straight to the point (he's a vertical scratcher) and no longer scratches…

Great product, terrible stickers on the product

In general the product is excellent. It's strong and almost industrial. It is very easy to set up and my cat loves it so much that he uses it as a scratching post rather than furniture. I gave it 2 stars because of that stupid sticker the company uses on one of the wooden floor supports. The decal stuck to the wood almost so strongly that even if you slowly and carefully peeled off the decal it would break and the backing of the paper would stay in place. I went and used the slime but still…

Both my cats LOVE it

I've had a lot of problems with the scratching post in the past. They're either too easy to crush (both my kitties love vertical scratches) or too hard or too soft for my girls to care about. I was also apprehensive about buying this one because the material is quite tough. My girls just love this post though! Next to this post I have a soft scraper for initial scratches and then they go to this scraper for more "fine tuning" of scratches and to sharpen their claws. It's incredibly strong, very

I only wish I had gotten one sooner!

Advantages: DURABLE. A braided rope feels incredibly strong, much stronger than a regular sisal wrapped post. The scratching posts I have had in the past were chosen because there were at least two of them and I rotated the tree as each post wore down and of course there were always torn pieces of rope everywhere. No more of that! My cat has razor sharp claws that haven't damaged a single strand of this thing so far and I expect it will last for years. STABLE. It has a nice wide base and weighs

My cat is a nightmare and this scratching post holds

. My cat is messy. It's pure and utter chaos and I love it. So he has to destroy everything. To make sure he doesn't destroy the planet (trust me he would if he could), I always try to keep a SmartCat scratching post handy. He can scratch as much as he wants, tries to talk and wreck, wreck, wreck. During its existence it saved a lot of furniture. The only downside, as there has to be a downside to make this an honest review, is that the actual scratching post cannot be replaced. I wish I could…

Pros
  • . While happy
Cons
  • There are problems

. Certainly one of my two cats thinks the new EVA floor is a giant scratching mat. The EVA is quite soft and tends to look shabby as far as my cat is concerned. GYM FLOOR SCRATCHING SOLUTION - Order this scratching post, place it in the middle of your basement gym and give a suspicious cat a scratching target. It worked - the new stance is favored by the cat bully and her pal. Pros: - Simple design, easy assembly - Durable - The base is in 2 pieces held together with 2 knurled dowels and the…
