I don't know what it can be used for.

I am trying to install this on our basement bar door which is the standard 2 x 4 (1.5 inch) thickness and it is not working for it. upset.

Good product. fits sliding door hardware

Works great and is well made. I like the ability to use a central door channel if one is available. Using a wall instead of drilling into the ground is a great option.

Didn't work for me - Door Hardware and Locks

I couldn't get this to work for my application. The guide was fat and tall. The set screw is located at the top inside of the rail. As a result, the gap under the door is too big for me.

Best option for barn door controls.

My Costco barn door came with a different version that requires drilling/screwing on the floor. This was a much easier and better way to control the barn door opening and closing. Highly recommended.

Poorly designed hardware

Screws stick out from underneath and hit the floor. They also have to be designed with a pan head screw because they sit too high. Because of these two factors, it is necessary to cut the door with a small clearance, which is ridiculous. When fully tightened, it is .465 inches thick...just under 1/2 inch. That's too much for the minimum distance...

Great spare part!

The original door rail on my barn door was plastic. Plastic? who would do it This part requires a lot of wear and tear. Of course, the plastic door rail failed when it tore. This door guide is very durable. solid metal I can't imagine it ever breaking or needing to be replaced. I have another barn door and if the plastic door track breaks (and it will) I will be buying another one of these! Highly recommended.

Tight fit but worked well.

Great product and not as flashy as some of the other options. I didn't want to remove and cut a groove in the base of my very heavy barn door so this was perfect. My only issue was that my custom Amish door was so wide that this bracket barely fit. It was so tight that it couldn't scratch the door or move heavily with the felt glides. I decided to lay a brace on my concrete floor and hit it a few times with a rubber mallet to widen the hole a bit. Its solid metal is very strong and difficult to
