Poor instructions made this installation much more difficult than it needed to be. It actually works pretty well once you figure out how to install it in the right position. No idea how long this will last as the spring tension has lost a lot of tension after just a few months of use.

we see how the mechanism works and we really like it. Most of the parts are made of plastic with a "piston or soft-close" dampening part encased in a long rectangular body. When we tested the soft-close feature, both units leaked a small amount of oil along the seam. It is inconvenient for the product to last a long time if the oil leaks after just one use.

They are good the way they are. Although not very durable. I had to adjust the bottom stops a bit and they popped out of their mounts after about a week of use. I ended up tucking the bottom panel in so that the adjustable block was very low so they would hold up. So far so good but not sure how they will be in the long run. If I need to replace them I would try to find something stronger.

. It will not fit under the rail if you have thick wall pads installed. So if you have bolts somewhere near where the door stops on the track, you won't be able to install this mechanism. Bad design, bad advertising, even worse product information.

I have used them on pre engineered wood/glass barn doors and on very heavy custom barn doors. Installs one on each end for soft opening and soft closing. The investment is definitely worth it. It's a little tricky to adjust the top hook/clasp that grips as too high it locks up and too low it sometimes slips off. Installed on 8 pocket doors (2 very, very heavy doors) for 1.5 years and work reliably. I recommend the heavier ones to keep the doors closed.

Item arrived exactly as pictured. The installation went almost as planned, but this product could still be improved. I had to pull out my angle grinder to completely remove the weird metal rod from the part that attaches to the door. I had to paint the metal with spray paint after sanding. I also had to drill 2 of the 3 holes in the part that attaches to the door and find flat head screws that sit flush with the metal bracket as the supplied screws sit too high to slide the door in since it's…
