Worked great: Camping

I put them on my truck and rode them on the road for 12 hours. I've replaced the small straps that come with the stock (tights) with ratchet straps since each can hold 500lbs AND you can actually tighten them. Then I tied down the front and back of the kayak and at each stop (gas, lunch, etc.) just checked the lines. This roofing system worked great, didn't scratch the paint and was easy to remove. I love it and I highly recommend it.

Easy to use and safe.

Let me start by saying that this system is light and fibrous. The setup is quite simple and can be done by one person. I bought extra stops to make it easier to attach to the hood and trunk. Otherwise, you'll have to look for something to attach those straps. While driving, I was able to cruise on the freeway and go 70 mph with no trouble shifting or anything. I did notice the belt loosening a bit after riding for a while, but that didn't cause any problems and it was very easy to pull it up…

I am incredibly happy with this purchase

Overall I am incredibly happy with this purchase. This temporary, easy-to-install solution is perfect for both quick trips to local lakes and interstate travel. The poles and foam pads held up well and kept the kayak secure. I've used it dozens of times with no permanent damage to the roof. Belts are junk. They held the boat perfectly but the ends were badly worn after a few uses and it was difficult to hook the front and rear straps as the hooks could not easily be attached to the strap. Two…

No permanent solution. but works fine for what it is.

Works very well as a makeshift rack to transport my kayak. The only downside is that the aluminum bars are too narrow. When I tie my kayak to the rack, the kayak is too wide and results in the strap going around the other strap instead of the handlebars. causing the strap to rub against the edge of the pole. which could cause wear or tear. I just added some foam between the mounting strap and the bar it is placed in to avoid possible friction. I also add an extra strap around the perimeter of…

Amazingly durable and secure

I bought this for infrequent use - I usually tie my kayak to the back of my pickup but recently I knew it was going to be full of other stuff and I still wanted a kayak take , 13.5 foot tandem. After adjusting the foam blocks to fit the width of the kayak, I found that the rack was easy to mount on the roof. I was concerned that the straps crossing in the passenger compartment would interfere, but that's not the case. In fact, the large kayak easily slid into the mount from the front of the…
