This is a great extra cocktail shaker when my other one is in use. (or if I can't get the stainless steel shaker top off!) I'm not sure about the quality of stainless steel because it's not as shiny as most stainless steels.

On arrival I found the pads to be difficult to remove. As stated in other reviews. But there is a simple solution. After removing the lid, carefully place it back onto the shaker. Turn the spinning top a few more revolutions. This will smooth things out nicely. The result is an easily removable top.

I bought a new spice rack but considering how many times two of them have been used. i need something more I found these jars locally and they had no lids. Of course it's expensive for just two lids - they worked great. They're easy to remove, but safe enough that moisture doesn't affect the spices.

We bought the original shake set many years ago and gave it away. We lost ours on a trip and bought these instead. Definitely not the same quality. They are difficult to use. The metal is sticking to itself. Concerned about the possibility of replacing silicone parts. The silicone seal in the lid got wet on first use. Can't see how to get it out. Original used standard ring.

In general, I like the shaker. There are two things that made me put it down. First, the top metal lid that covers the actual part of the shaker is very difficult to remove, so I just put it on lightly. Second, you can't hold it straight up and down and shake it. Only a few spices come out. You need to hold it horizontally and shake it slightly. Can be a chore if you want to spice something up generously.

I bought this for our house on the lake. Salt has always become hard. 4 stars because one of the lid gaskets seems too big and prevents the lid from snapping into place. It looks like the seal is so good that it keeps air between the lid and the seal, creating a balloon of sorts. I pierced the seal to allow the air to escape and now I'll see how it all works. Please note they come with a seal around the jar and a seal around the lid. I love them and will probably buy another set soon.

GOOD NEWS: This large hole lid is perfect for a standard sized mason jar and the shaker is perfect for the spice mixes I use. The protective cap covers the holes when not in use, which is exactly what I wanted. The BAD news is that the slippery protective cap is very difficult to remove with bare hands. It's secure, which is good, but it's very difficult to open without the rubberized lid opener. A small flange around the top or a serrated edge would help a lot.
