Enhanced Multi-Function Switch: Standard Motor Products DS-278 Review

My analysis of this product showed that it was extremely disappointing. It performed poorly and failed to meet my expectations. The only positive point was the low price. However, it was not worth the hassle of dealing with the constant failures and inconveniences caused by this switch. Save your money and purchase a better quality switch instead.

Even though my old broken door switch doesn't look like it, it works just like the old one. Just a note, they are NOT easy to replace if you lost the wires in the car's metal interior.

At first I thought I ordered the wrong item as the shank extended well past the hex section of the bracket which took too long. But after looking closely and comparing it to the original, I found that the switch part was snug with an interference fit inside the hex part and that it could be moved to the desired position. This is a very tight fit and it requires a decent amount of force to move it. I adjusted most of this prior to installation and then had the door closed for final positioning…
