AS GOOD AS CLEAN IN Side Cutters

STANLEY 84-029 8" LINER PLATES. WELL MATCHED JAWS WITH INCITORS THAT CLOSE AND ADJUST THE JAWS SMOOTHLY. FOR THE PRICE YOU ARE AHEAD. AS GOOD AS KLINE.

Not the one in the picture but works perfectly

The product I received is not the one in the picture (but it is actually 84-029 as listed on the Stanley website: http : //www.stanleytools.com/default.asp?CATEGORY=STANLEY+PLIERS&TYPE=PRODUCT&PARTNUMBER=84-029&SDesc=8%22+Stanley%26%23174%3B+Bi-Material+Lineman+pliers). It also looks like it has already been used (the plastic strap was broken, some scratches). Of course it will work fine and I can't really complain given the price, but getting something used instead of new is very frustrating.

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Disappears

I like the Kliens grips a little more than the .

I already had one of these and for the price it was unbeatable. My grips slipped off but I smeared them with glue and reattached them and that solved the problem. Be careful when resetting the handles as the pressure can cause the glue to flow out. I use mine for cutting, twisting, crimping copper, fitting plumbing, etc. I stumble upon it, drop it and unfortunately lose it. My colleagues have Kliens but I can buy 5 of them for the price of one. I like the Kliens grips a bit more as they offer a

  • A few little things

I've been using these pliers for two weeks now, I've made over 70 socket and panel connections, it cuts clean like a knife and the strips are clean so far. I am content that I had an expensive brand before I cut a live wire and the edge of the pliers touched the glass and burned a hole in the cutting jaw which I always liked Having good tools in my pocket means expensive but after I Having lost one and damaged the other, I chose these Stanley pliers because of the price, I am not disappointed…

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel

  • Almost never

Excellent pliers

Bought these pliers for a one off job to replace a regular outlet. The original reason I bought this pair was the relatively high rating and low price. The feeling in the hand is very pleasant. Appears to be of good quality. I like the weight of these tongs, a little heavier which I like. The only complaint I have with them is that there is some black grease oozing out of the pincer joint. Also, closer to the top of the jaw opening, there appears to be some abrasive grain in the joint. These…

Good pay but not the best.

I use these pliers for twisting and cutting wire. So far I've used it to splice/cut a bundle of 6-14 gauge wire. The grip could have been a bit better to offer more leverage. I find that when cutting anything less than 12 gauge I have to squeeze the pliers firmly. It took a lot of effort to cut the 6 gauge wire with it; it would not be possible if I were a weak person. Overall I like these pliers but I don't see the sharpness and I think the handle could be designed a bit better for more…
