Works best in spare parts

Seems to work fine. My old cap was causing the check engine light to come on. It sounds like you should check and replace the gas caps on some cars/trucks about every five years. If the vent becomes clogged or damaged, the vehicle will be prone to vapor lock and/or poor fuel flow. Only two keys and I need one for each set of keys I have.

Pros
  • Dope πŸ”₯
Cons
  • Good mostly, but...

Works great on a 2000 Grand Cherokee.

Purchased 2 1/2 years ago at the time of this review for my 2000 Grand Cherokee after someone let the gas out of my car and got their hose stuck in the cap and had to cut it off to get away with their loot (Attached picture. At least I'm happy with that. ha). Anyway it works fine. No unlocking issues, no EVAP error codes (i.e. no air pressure leak), etc.

Pros
  • This is awesome
Cons
  • Interval

Great hat for Oregon!

Great cap as you can lock it before putting it back on. I bought another cap from NAPA and this cap required me to put it back on before locking it. This has been a big problem for gas stations, especially in Oregon where you can't pump your own gas. This cap allows you to unlock, remove and lock the cap before putting it on. This makes it easy to reinstall without a key.

Pros
  • Comfortable
Cons
  • No performance

I had to rip it off with channel locks

I drove to a gas station to get gas. I've been trying to unlock it for ten minutes. Luckily I had a quarter tank and drove home. Fiddled with it for another 15 minutes and finally got my hands on some channel locks, removed the top of the lock and unscrewed it by hand. I would have got stuck, destroyed a piece of shit, and after removing it from the canal locks, I realized it was still a joke. It got ONE star for not being published with ZERO stars. DO NOT BUY!

Pros
  • The best
Cons
  • Low maintainability

USED ONE DAY for parts

Got this and installed it on my Ford F150 and almost immediately the check engine light on the gas cap came on. Ford's factory sensor will not work with this cover and the light will not only stay on but will cover your odometer until you remove it and install the factory cover or reset it by removing the battery clips and restarting your computer. May work with other models but didn't work with my truck or worked when I wanted the check engine light to stay on for the rest of the trucks.

Pros
  • Stable test results
Cons
  • Great price

Chito Protection! for spare parts

I've been using it for a few months. I think I can really verify it now. It works great when used correctly. It works with a quarter turn mechanism to open the gas cap, so turn the key a quarter turn and the cap locks. and can rotate counterclockwise, after which you must turn the key back to the locked position before you can remove the key. My only real issue is that the small space in the tank hatch bay makes it difficult for me to get my fingers through to turn the cap with the key…

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • Negative impression

Strange lock design

This gas cap is a bit difficult to use compared to other gas caps I have had on other cars. It's pretty confusing if you haven't had one before. At first I thought it was broken since the key only turns 1/4 turn and not 1/2 (ie: lock and unlock positions). The key only opens it. Screwing it in tight is what locks it in place. Then you have to make sure that it is locked by trying to unscrew it again. I'm deducting a star because of the weird design. It feels a little cheap, but on the other…

Pros
  • Absolute Legend
Cons
  • Minor issues
