works well. Requires some modifications

Not sure if it was just the shape of my dropouts or something similar, but the position of the angle in relation to the axle cutout would prevent me from attaching to the axle and still making it a frame . I had another hole in the dropout good enough to climb through. I just had to find the right socket. all said and done it worked great and i don't think for the price you can really expect a perfect universal fit out of the box.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • boring packaging

Mountain bike only

All in the name of MTB. 31.8mm is probably a common mountain bike tube diameter, front and rear. However, keep in mind that if you have fenders/struts to upgrade to disc brakes, you will need to remove something. In addition, when braking, the caliper is pressed into the support tube. For the front, this is the fork tube. Any bending of the adapter while braking can cause the disc to twist. Not my idea of good design. A while ago Phil Wood made a disc brake that fits both front and rear without

Know what you get. This only works with a 180 mm brake disc.

The problem is that the description does not adequately describe the piece. The bracket allows you to use a 180mm rear disc brake. I have 160mm so the caliper sits too high because of this mount. The 20mm or 31.8mm size they offer isn't as important as the fact that this mount is too big for what I need. The description says nothing about what size disc brake this space allows. 140mm/160mm is a common entry-level disc brake size. Most people looking for a solution like this won't rock 180mm or…

Will not work for many applications.

Converting an old Trek mountain bike to an electric pedal, I needed a bracket to install a new front disc brake to replace the V-brake I was using. I ordered this adapter and found that the angle of the dropout didn't match my front fork, the metal strip didn't match the size of the front fork tube and the anchor slot that was supposed to be fastened between the inside of the front fork and the axle hub doesn't work unless I change the axle from quick detachable to bolted. So I used this…

Might fit on a 'regular' bike rear frame

I gave it 3 stars because it probably does what it's supposed to do, but I just couldn't get it to work with my particular frame geometry. I read reviews about design limitations so I knew what I was getting myself into. I have a Trek Y50 that has a very unusual frame. The rear frame members that lead to the dropouts are rectangular in cross-section (joke), but I was hoping the metal on this adapter would be malleable enough to wrap around them. The metal "hinges" are a little pliable, but the…
