Simple but effective.

The biggest plus for me about this thing is that it's an inexpensive thing that could fit in a fairly deep rack case. All the cheap 4-post deals I saw didn't work for him. I put this block on the floor, it works fine. Otherwise there is not much to say about him. It's easy to assemble and more than strong enough. I've seen other reviews about the lack of mounting hardware. But I have 3 packs of 12 screws and brackets. 36 seems a lot to me.

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • Communication with seller

Perfect Computers & Accessories

Ideal for studio equipment. I was worried it would tip over backwards with the heavy preamp, but it's solid! The lower part is very heavy, so it stands stable. If you want to spend more money on gear and less on wood aesthetics, that's no problem. Spend $600 on a new preamp and buy it instead! Ps: It doesn't have enough clips and screws when you try to make 12 units out of 1 unit. You'll need a few pieces of 2U or 3U to make it work.

Pros
  • Nice to use
Cons
  • Something different

Heavy Duty 2 Post Rack

I've noticed that light and heavy models are mixed in these reviews and most of the restrictive reviews seem to be for the light version. After figuring that out, I bought the high-performance version to support four tiers of test hardware on my desk. The rack seems stable even before I add a large, heavy network analyzer as the bottom tier. I use two shelves to support non-rack units in the top half and the rack is very stable with *a little* more weight. The sides of the stand are secured…

Pros
  • cool product
Cons
  • boring hardware

very strong and clean conical construction.

Wish it was a 14U rack. 12 is a bit small, but I like that you can put deeper devices on the bottom and shallower devices on top. Machining requires some work as there are rough burrs on the bottom that can scratch the countertop and hands.

Pros
  • Great Price
Cons
  • Factor Set

12U 9U Hardware Rack

The 12U Heavy Duty 2-Post Open Frame Network Rack is rugged and easy to assemble. The downside is that the device only comes with 9U clamps and mounting screws.

Pros
  • Pretty Package
Cons
  • So So

Great rack for studio gear, be careful when mounting wheels on it.

Great stand for studio outboards. The only problem was the design of the bottom of the rack. It has pre-punched holes, but they don't support any significant weight, it just bends them. I used 1/8" thick 1" x 1" steel angle and made a frame for this rack (12" x 20 1/2" ID). Then I welded the casters to the base of the frame, which I made. Mention that it didn't have the hardware when it arrived and I had to buy additional rack hardware to assemble it.

Pros
  • Value for money
Cons
  • Clarity

Cons
  • I'll add

you get what you pay for, and in this case the 16U desktop version is no exception. It came with good gear and was well packaged. It's heavy duty and just what I was looking for in a solid desktop rack. I liked that it's a vertical rack and not a sloping back like most desktop racks, plus it's taller than most like 16U. Just multiply 1.75 inches by the U number and you'll get a good idea of the height. The only minor catch will be that the fasteners are silver instead of black. Includes black…
