Used this starter on a 2005 Volvo S60. While it worked I had a little trouble getting the hose back into the intake manifold as this starter was slightly larger than the original one.

I have. P2 v70xc 2.5L. This starter is longer than stock. It hits the intake pipe under the manifold. You have to bisect the positive pole of the solenoid to avoid getting hit. The rear bracket, which is bolted to the engine block, also needs modification to make it work.

Like some others, I was also drawn to the dual blade connectors. Looking at these reviews after installing and not running helped resolve the issue. Of course what you don't need is at the top, easy to see. I also had to change the mount to fit me. It doesn't sound loud to me, but the starter it replaces has 490,000 miles on it.

Electromagnet has two wings, one on top and one on bottom. On the Volvo 850, do not connect the green cable to the paddle from above (otherwise the car will not start), connect the cable from below, as in the original. I ended up doing this job twice to look at the connections. One star deducted because the lack of a diagram or an accurate picture cost me hours and a lot of frustration.

Engine runs, car starts easily, so all very good. If this continues, I'll save a lot of money at local auto parts stores.
