This is the perfect tree for my 1993 Manta Ray with Mercruiser Alpha One 3.0LX. Couldn't be happier. Came with everything you need to get to work.

Installed the night I received it. Easy to install, but the screws are a bit difficult to reach (not the fault of the starters, Mercruiser design). Overall lined up nicely and works great, especially for the price!

The starter works perfectly. I only had one screw in the first package and none in the second, so if you chose this product for the mounting hardware. Beware. Had I known this I would have bought a better marine grade starter and bought the bolts separately.

Worked for 2 months with very little use and then just stopped working, all of a sudden without warning, the solenoid failed. I replaced a few other parts thinking it couldn't be the starter motor, I just replaced it. I took it to Autozone, they matched the number and found one in stock for marine use. Came with 1 year warranty so it wasn't a problem. I think Rare Electrical is a good company, it's just that this product is of poor quality. I will buy from them again.

Bought to convert my 'big' starter to a lighter, smaller starter. Works fine with no game. The 4-pin magnet simplifies wiring if you're also using a stock distributor. One star deducted because what I received was not exactly as described. The starter I received had an 11 tooth gear instead of the 9 tooth listed (more than once) in the description. Good. Here's what happened. Ordered a starter for my S10V8. Installed the starter. Has worked for a good month. I took the truck to my mechanic, we checked all the connections. A new battery, cable and tip were installed when the engine was installed. My mechanic determined that the problem in the Bendix was with the starter motor.
