Maybe I didn't read carefully. I got the impression that there are tiles made of thick paper. Unfortunately, it is even thinner than some printing paper (almost 90 grams). The texture is nice but very thin. I will not buy again. If you need thin paper then this is fine. I've been using tiles ever since. This paper size is the only notebook my son likes to use now as he prefers to draw small. And this notebook fits in a pencil case with its markers, which is very convenient and absolutely amazing, so this notebook should be in our house! It will take some time to use all the other sketchbooks I took with me of my own free will. This is a nice little notebook I was given to practice zentangling. Some reviewers complained about the paper's thinness, but the notepad clearly labels 60-pound paper. I found this to work great with both black and colored Sakura pens. They bleed very little, if at all, so they work great on this notebook, as do the smudged pens.
