it was a waste of time and money

This item is very cheap quality and doesn't have the same performance as the original clip controllers, maybe 1/3 the volume, it was a waste of time and money, an hour after I plugged it in, I unplugged it and put it back in the original packaging and asked Amazon for a full refund. I ended up taking my original controller apart and fixing the problem. My advice to save money and buy genuine hardware, here's what I'm going to do next.

Everything arrived scratched - definitely not new. But I needed my ProMedia speakers to work, so I plugged them in. Big mistake. They exploded almost immediately. Thank you for ruining my first generation Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 speakers. Moral of the story - buy genuine parts for your expensive equipment.

Defective Pro Media 2.1 controller box? Get this product now.

If you have an original, faulty, scratchy or otherwise defective Klipsch control box for your 2.1 Pro medium then this is the solution. This solved my problem with a noisy, scratchy, bulky pot. I couldn't take it anymore. And I didn't want to buy a used control box because it will most likely have the same problem sooner or later. Right? So I took a chance and got this thing. Not sorry at all. Works great and I'm glad I have it. The only problem I have with this thing (and it's actually not as…

Excellent replacement control box for Klipsch ProMedia 2.1

I agree with the reviewers who say this control box works better than the original and produces better sound than the original. Balanced, deeper bass, enhanced version via very good Klipsch satellite speakers. It's very easy to hook up and the subwoofer jack seems to have eliminated the crackling at that troublesome spot. I agree that turning the device on and off makes a loud crackling sound, but I keep mine on all the time so it's not a problem for me, but it might be for some.

Works but has a few issues

This works as expected for a plug-in, now my 2.1 sounds great. It's very light, so much so that the weight of the cables connected at the back lifts the front. I'll probably use 2-sided tape once I know where I want it more permanent.

Good Replacement - Audio & Video Accessories

Replaced the original control box which was poorly designed. If the end came off the original it couldn't be replaced, this unit was a good repair solution, albeit a bit expensive. The controls work perfectly.

Cheaply made in computers and accessories

upon receipt in the mail. it feels very cheap. 3.5mm cable made in the garage fits very loosely. Yours is too shaky for both speakers to play. for the price of 39.99 you would think they would at least have a decent cable. will probably bring it back in the end

    Pop goes your speakers.

Loud popping sound when power button is pressed. The left channel disappears when the headphones are turned off. When the power switch is switched to the left, will return. Sometimes when I adjusted the volume, the left channel would drop out again, requiring the power button to be fixed (and the clicks that came with it). On the plus side - the blue LED is not blindingly bright.

Considering the headphone jack on my Klipsch pod didn't work at all, I consider this a win. The power button is nothing more than a speaker unit. It still consumes full power. Only press it when you want a LOUD popping sound to come out of your speakers. With the headphones plugged in, sound still comes out of your speakers, but it's not very loud. It works, but it's not perfect. UPDATE: My rating has been changed to two stars. Control. It also upsets the balance. Too far away and one speaker…

it's still a waste of energy

I recently purchased this unit and installed it with my new Klipsch Promedia 2.1 computer speaker system. The only reason I bought it was for the power button as for some reason the Klipsch speaker doesn't have a power button. Well, unfortunately, the power button isn't actually a power button. It's really just a switch on the audio input line - the power is never turned off. I verified this by connecting the system's 110V plug to a power meter and then looking at the power consumption with the
