Great Value!

High quality flush mount boxes very similar to the Lowes and Home Depot brands. Easy installation and wiring. The best advice I got was to remove the 4 spring clips before installing the glass in the hole in the ceiling and then insert each clip. At the same time, the drywall is not pushed out, and the cans fit into the hole very tightly. Each jar comes with foam tape to keep the attachment airtight. I would take her again.

Great boxes for recessed lighting

I bought 10 pieces to change the lighting in the dining room. These glasses fit perfectly, there is a template for the hole. I ended up making a 4.25 or 4.5 (4.25 is better) hole and they fitted fine. I find that removing the clips, inserting the cans and re-clipping works great. The clips hold the jars to the drywall very well (make sure you tap the clip lightly with a flat head screwdriver). I've tried Sunco, Hypericon and a few LED strips and they all fit very well. I will buy again

Easy to switch! in cases

Replaced my 6 inch CFL recessed lights. Removed the body of the lights, disconnected the romex wiring from the junction box on the old light base, connected the romex to the new light and left the old base in place, added a new glass LED downlight added (select 4000 Lumens of cool white light for the kitchen, added dimmer (3 way) and wife is happy with the new lighting.Only surprise was the vented insulation that came out of the ceiling when removing the old glass! What a mess .Nothing, a little

Pros
  • Useful not only for intended purpose
Cons
  • Packaging is ugly

TAAAAAAA much cheaper than the big department stores and the quality is just as good or "better"! I have installed 13 of these so far and the only problem I had was getting the retaining clips to snap into place to hold each light fixture securely flush to the ceiling. It seems like a little clever hole punching in each retaining clip would make using a screwdriver a lot easier, right? to fully seat the clamps, but I found that 16 oz. The soldering hammer I had was perfect for "wrapping" the…

Good quality at a good price

I recently installed 10 of these units in my kitchen so I know them pretty well. :-One of the jars had a few creases in the exposed metal part that is visible from the bottom-When you unfold the springs that hold it tight to the drywall you have to open them to adjust, they rarely sit properly again-Some The feathers always bounced down and didn't hold on even the first time, and nothing interfered with them at the top. In general, I am very pleased with them, but I had to be content with the…

Excellent electrical product

They were very easy to install. It comes with a ceiling template to cut out. Before I got the tins I bought a flagstone cutter to cut round holes, but I didn't need it - a regular flagstone saw or serrated knife worked great. You just strip the wires about 1/2 inch and connect them. I replaced the overhead lighting in the kitchen, four fluorescent lights (8 lights) and planned to use eight 4 inch lights. about 80%. I bought the brightest Sunco lights as recommended for the kitchen but if I do…

Great recessed jars for remodeling projects

I installed nine of these jars in our kitchen for a renovation we are doing. I used a Harbor Frieght 4 1/4" hole saw to cut holes in the 5/8" drywall. You can use the template provided to cut out the holes by hand. I cut two holes by hand and decided to speed up the process by using a hole saw, much quicker and a perfect hole every time. I have found that the 4 1/4 hole size makes installing clamps much easier. I removed the clips, placed the glass in the hole, and then replaced the clips one…

Cheap, easy and effective!

I need to remodel an old 1970's lake house. Lots of crappy lighting fixtures - spheres, spotlights, power rails - so I needed a quick light replacement AND something that would allow me to switch to LED in the meantime. These 4 inch Sunco LED can housings turned out to be PERFECT for my job. I chose the 4" size because most (if not all) of my ceiling light j-boxes have 4" holes. J-Box aside (it's the only "heavy" part and it's not that bad.) I just had to widen the hole in the ceiling a bit. I…
