Description of Sunex 220Md 2 Inch Impact Socket

Forged from the finest chrome molybdenum alloy steel-the best choice for strength and durability. Radius corner design-to extend the life of fasteners. The design drives the side of the fastener instead of the corner. Provides increased strength, but also avoids rounding of rusted or damaged fasteners. 1/2-Inch drive, 20mm deep impact socket.

Fits self-sealing sockets

Withstands a full hit with an impact wrench and turns worn round nuts with little or no damage. Must have a hard surface and a hard inner layer. It's good!

Pros
  • Provides increased strength and prevents rounding of rusted or damaged fasteners
Cons
  • No

Size marking too small

I don't mind a painted size marking as long as the head also has stamped markings and these sockets have both. I am confused as to why the markings are so are small? There is no excuse for marking such a small size on a 1/2" socket. My eyes become cloudy when I reach the age of 60 and I have a hard time reading these sockets, unless I'm in a better light than Auto Skills Shop I. Work in hasn't.Otherwise it's a socket and does what sockets do.

Pros
  • 1/2" drive, 20mm deep impact socket
Cons
  • Negative present

Bargain price

20mm not a popular size but as I think someone mentioned before you may need a worn out 19mm lug nut one day. After my wife drove her car to the Toyota dealership, the 19mm socket no longer fitted, presumably because the "techies" there hammered over the lug nuts with their impact nuts and overtightened. This head worked. It has slightly rounded corners to increase strength and avoid rounded corners on the nuts. This is a feature not common at outlets in this price range.

Pros
  • Radiused corner design - to extend fastener life
Cons
  • Drill pack
