25W Globe CFL - Bulbs

This is the only Globe CFL on the US market. For those of us who need a beauty product that requires 25W CFL this is the place to be. The previous product was the Panasonic CFL, which no longer exists. As far as I can tell, they didn't leave a replacement for their customers. Market research remained patchy for about a year. A few years ago, Sunlite from China filled the gap. While not perfect, they are the only vendor out there. Their only downside is the somewhat flimsy packaging. I think…

Pros
  • ENERGY EFFICIENT - At only 25W these CFLs produce as much light as 100W incandescent bulbs

As expected for CFLs

This CFL bead performs as expected ie takes 1-2 minutes to reach full brightness but that is par for the course with most low wattage bulbs , no ? At full brightness there is a clear bright light, not too blue. I also bought a 65K globe (i.e. daylight) to compare the colors. The 50K light is whiter in my opinion, but in my case it works really well on a laundry room ceiling. I install the 65K in my dressing room and am happy with how the colors look without going to the window. If you can live…

Pros
  • Very good value for money

(5000 Kelvin) Finally-- not too yellow, not too blue!

I was looking for a replacement for the annoying bright bluish fluorescent bulbs that came with the pendant light, but the various bulbs I tried (Halogena, GE Reveal, etc.) were too yellow and underpowered. That temperature of 5,000 Kelvin seemed ideal - pure white light, nice and bright, but still not as blue as some fluorescent lights (which another reviewer noted would be good in a workshop environment). Finally the Goldilocks lightbulb! Note that they are larger than standard bulbs (but you

Needs time to warm up

I've had these pears for about 2 weeks now; bought this after positive experiences with its slightly smaller brother, the Sunlite SLG20/G30/50K. The big difference between 20w and 25w incandescent bulbs is that 25w incandescent bulbs heat up much more slowly. Lamps appear to be at about 60% final brightness when turned on and ramp up slowly (over about 2 full minutes) to full brightness, while 20 watt incandescent bulbs appear to start at about 85% final brightness (also reaching full…
