Terrible waste of time. After 2 unsuccessful sessions we switch to another manufacturer. I ordered my first pump. The shaft didn't turn and the engine just hummed. I called the tech and he ordered the oil for me, checked the shaft adjustment etc. No change so I returned it for a replacement. The replacement pump came in an apparently opened and resealed package. The leadership was missing. The power cord was not properly attached. Of course, there were all the signs of a product being returned…

Worst submersible pump we have ever owned

We have had many submersible pumps, this really is the worst. Within 2 weeks of installing it my husband had to take it apart to try and get it working again. A week later same thing and he took it apart again and it worked for several days. Finally, after about 4 weeks, we had a flood and even dismantling led to a total failure. The manufacturer offered us a new drainage pump of the same worthless quality, no way! It costs way more than a sump pump, including flooding our basement. We will…

Super quality, easy installation, great value for money!

I had a very old pedestal well that failed and this is my first experience with swamps and with a little panic I saw dollar signs circling in my head. After doing a little searching online, I decided to buy this one because of the cast iron base and other cast iron or stainless steel parts (who knew there were pumps under $100 made out of PLASTIC?! Phew!). My friend and I installed it in about an hour. I bought all kinds of PVC joins and corners so we didn't have to go back to the store, bought

  • A sea of positive emotions
Cons
  • There are nuances

Unfortunately the packaging of this item looked like it had been run over by a monster truck. As my heart sank looking at the packaging and thinking I'd open it up and show off my beautiful thousand-piece drain pump, I was relieved to dig up more intact styrofoam. Luckily the pump only had a slight kink in the guide on the shaft that guides the float. I straightened it out with a pair of pliers and, BOOM, the drain pump is fine! Take this high water table! I hooked up this suction cup and with…

BEWARE! Works after editing!

I bought this pump as a spare, the switch on my main base broke on a rainy Christmas day leaving me stuck without a pump. When I got the Superior pump I went and installed it on the piping. Plugged it in and as others have said nothing but a buzz. At first I thought the pump was very quiet, which it is. but he pumped no water. I thought it might be necessary to increase the water pressure, but when I smelled hot stream I immediately turned off the suction cup. my cloaca. Otherwise he works…

If he lasts as long as he looks well built, he'll be in good shape.

This is my second 1/3 HP cast iron pump that I have recently purchased. I bought the first one to replace a Flotec drain pump that was supposed to be at least 20 years old. When I checked it before a big storm (Flotec) it started smoking and wasn't pumping. Decided it was time for a new one. Was impressed by the mostly positive reviews of Superior and the price was right. The first one I bought on HD was about $100. Impresses right out of the box. Heavy all-metal construction. After installing…

Easy to install long life pump

Our basement has a small hole for a drain pump that only runs when needed - about 2-3 months a year. For the first 10 years in the house we used a pump installed by the previous owners and when it finally died we installed a Basement Watchdog pump that didn't even last a season. We changed the pump every year for about 5 years, either by buying new or under warranty, until I finally gave up the cellar guard. We have a half pump in the basement with a different hole that had a Superior Pump…

BEWARE OF SMALL GARBAGE. NO BUENOS!

Received the pump quickly and it looked great when I took it out of the box. The excitement was overwhelming. The apartment on the first floor of one of the houses I rented was leaking water from an adjacent, slightly higher basement, which consisted mainly of mud. I started using a pump to draw water from a spring. It worked exactly as intended and I was able to remove excess water. Yay! However, the rain was not made. I returned about four hours later expecting to be able to effectively…
