Missed it too cheap to trust too long, works great

I currently use it on a 2m APRS node in my garage and have walked past it a few times, because I thought that it was also cheap to be useful. Of course there will be RFI noise and it will send all kinds of interference and noise both down power lines and radiation etc so I tested a little and it's super super clean and works great with my 2m radio. The fan on it is a bit noisy, but it's in the garage so I don't care; If I was on a desk I would probably replace it with a quieter fan. And Iโ€ฆ

Good value for money.

The connector panel at the end of the device can be a problem. I used a set of crimp connectors and an old spare 3-wire computer power plug and cord for the 120VAC side. Cut off the end of the calculator, strip the insulation and attach the 3 ring or fork crimp contacts to the gear tray in the designated location. There isn't much free space on the mounting plate, so choose your crimp connectors carefully. The speed of the fan depends on the load, so light loads (low power consumption) areโ€ฆ

  • Stylish and modern design

So far the winner. in Home audio

So far I like this 110VAC to 12VDC converter. I use it for my Ham Radio VHF Transceiver and Allstar Portable Node. Over the past two months of continuous use, there have been no unwanted noise or other performance issues. Haven't used it with my HF transceiver yet but will soon. If it makes a lot of noise in the highs, I'll comment here. I adjusted the potentiometer to 13.8 VDC and it stayed there. Under continuous broadcast conditions, the fan turns on, even if I don't use the maximumโ€ฆ

12v power supply

Added this to my entertainment center to run 12v led lighting. I've heard some complaints about fan noise, but mine is pretty quiet. I noticed that the fan has variable speed. The fan spins up with increasing load. My total load is only 0.5 amps at 12 volts and when I added another load of 1.75 amps = 2.25 amps the fan speed doubled but was still quiet enough that I could put it 15 feet from your chair couldn't hear while watching TV. I have a full 7.1 surround sound system so not hearing theโ€ฆ

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Some bugs

I am using two of these in a parallel arrangement to power a 2500w car audio amp on a garage dyno. At first I thought 60 amps would be enough, but as I get closer to the mid-band of the amp's power range I need more, around 100-120 amps, to power it properly. Surprisingly, both devices hold 13+ volts at the output until the moment of overload, but then they don't immediately go into "protection mode". Instead, they continue to consume the available amplifiers even when the amplifier voltageโ€ฆ

Nice little power supply

I wanted a power supply for some old car audio equipment (150W, 5ch, 30A class input, component speaker and subwoofer). I was getting power from a car battery/charger in my garage. and for the price i thought "why not?". Truly direct connections with an adjustable voltage potentiometer next to the terminal block. I set mine to 14.4V with a DMM, hooked up my 5 channel amp and listened for any audible noise. No one. Increased gain on amplifier, still nothing. Okay, let's "give away the beans" toโ€ฆ
