Impossible to use without causing irritation and hand cramps

Overall length from tip of hook to end of stopper is 23 inches. The length of cord from the hook joint to the start of the stopper is 16 1/2 inches. The hook itself is 6 inches long. However, the taper at the end of the line starts at 4 inches, making it look like a 4 inch hook. The hook is round and smooth. Unlike Susan Bates Silvalume hooks, this hook does not have a flattened thumb rest on the shank. Unlike other Susan Bates hooks which are linear, the hook tip is tapered. Hook is smooth…

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!

  • Not bad, but...

Doesn't slide well and paint is peeling

I've been using SB hooks for over 30 years and this hook is unlike any other Bates hook I've had. I don't know if the quality has gone down or what. Yellow color is, well, "sticky" for lack of a better term. It does not run smoothly through the yarn. I tried buffing it with a soft cloth to see if there was any coating on it that might come off and the yellow paint started peeling off the cloth. I ended up buffing the paint with fine sandpaper and some steel wool and it works better but still…

Pros
  • One year sample
Cons
  • Available in white only

Cheap kinked cord, no swivel, not repairable (for me)

Unfortunately the company chose a very cheap material for the cord. It has so much storage (rolled up in the packaging) that takes hot water, hanging a weight from a hook (I threaded it through a heavy cotton ball and put a needle stopper on the end), then a hot hair dryer. Still bending. It would be nice if the cable could be rotated. It can be done. I have high quality circular needles with a soft plastic cord and a swivel that attaches the needle to the cord. Knit ts (simple Tunisian stitch)

Pros
  • Dope 🔥
Cons
  • Expensive
