Before I decided on this pair I spent a lot of time reading and researching scissors and scissor metals. This is the cheapest pair of scissors from a company that makes professional quality scissors. The main difference between these scissors and scissors made from more expensive metals is how often they need to be sharpened and their overall lifespan. Update: Bought in 2015 - after a few years of ownership it lost some of its excitement. There should be a tension adjuster on the side, but we can't pull it back with screwdrivers etc. The blades are still sharp and they make great little scissors, but they can no longer cut hair effectively. Sometimes the hair is bent or pulled out instead of being cut. I would still consider it worth the price given the cost was so low when I bought it but wish it had lasted 5 years instead of 2. I received this today and knew I was going to order 6 inch scissors but oh my god they look like they were made for a kid. I couldn't even put my finger through the hole. I'm sure this is a great product but be warned if your hands aren't tiny they won't fit you. In the picture you can see a comparison between ordinary kitchen scissors and a quarter.
