Doesn't matter! Best in Spare Parts

A country house built 6 years ago. The smell of sewage in the yard appeared a few months after the house was finished. We couldn't figure out the source and even got to the point where the company that installed our septic system came in and started digging to find the leaks. We struggled with halitosis for 6 years until I finally found information about houses on hills and large trees blocking airflow. We found this device at Revain and all I can say is WOW! Doesn't matter. not a single smellโ€ฆ

No more sewer smell!

There was a smell of sewage in front of the house. Concerned that I would have to do VERY EXPENSIVE plumbing repairs. After speaking to a few plumbers to get an honest opinion, I realized it was probably a draft from the roof vent. The SWEET AIR ventilation tube filter was the perfect solution. ** I used tape to attach the filter to the vent pipe. This keeps the filter in place in windy or rainy weather. No more sewage smell. THANK GOD. You must add pieces of charcoal to the filter before useโ€ฆ

  • New

VERY IMPORTANT TO KNOW if you're going to survive the winter

Everything was great with this case. HOWEVER I was either too stupid or didn't research enough, but if you live in a cold winter climate with snow etc (Vermont here) this needs to be REMOVED for the winter. Moisture condenses and blocks airflow, contributing to bad house odors and poorly functioning drains and toilets. This is a new house and the septic tank smell was noticed in the summer. No problem, right? Just put the cap on the vent tube outlet. Not so fast, the pipe exits at the top ofโ€ฆ

  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Hard to say

So thankful! on Air Filters & Accessories

My wife and I just built a home here in rural Iowa. Once our septic tank and leach field were installed, we smelled the stench outside. We have a vent pipe (candy cane) at each end of the lye field and a smaller chimney on the roof of the house. The smell could come from any of them and seemed to depend on the direction and speed of the wind. About two weeks ago we ordered a vent filter and placed it on the vent closest to the septic tank (top of the suds field). The result is amazing. No moreโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Sturdy Construction
Cons
  • Bad Experience

ITS WORTH IT! - Spare parts

WHY DID NOT WE THINK ABOUT THIS BEFORE?. Soooo we bought a house (an old house). and found that there was always a bad smell or odor near the front door and we kept thinking it was a collapsed sewer line or something. So uncomfortable with a guest. but we didn't get any backups? Or plumbing problems? So we investigated and found it was a sewer/vent. Come on, Revain, and I swear. NOTHING since then! PROBLEM SOLVED! The vent pipe of our chimney is made of cast iron (3 inch). My husband drilledโ€ฆ

Pros
  • This is great

Doesn't work well for me for spares

Adding this charcoal pellet filled cap eliminated the smell in the garden. However, after about a day, this smell returned to the lower level of the house. Removing the filter solved the problem. I tried to get just a very thin layer of the attached tiny charcoal pellets on the bottom and again the canal gasses rose up the canal. If I have a choice, I prefer the stench outside. According to the code, the vent pipe must be 3 inches in diameter. It's hard to imagine how a pile of 4" diameter coal

Pros
  • Works great for me
Cons
  • No instructions
