I bought this to store powdered sugar as I like to sprinkle it on pancakes, chocolate cakes etc. Performance is great, cleaning is a breeze (I'm pretty sure you could throw it in the dishwasher but it seems like a waste of time as it only takes 15 seconds to rinse thoroughly), in fact mine is only complaint the lid. When I got this I must have gotten one that eluded QC (assuming they HAVE QC). When unscrewing the lid, the bottom edge of the lid was so sharp that I was lucky I didn't cut my fingers deeply. There were very sharp metal burrs and slivers of metal from machining along the edge just waiting to rip your fingers apart.
