Best Camera Lens Product Returns

Received my Tamron 20mm on May 6th, 2020. I have a Tamron 28-75mm and am very happy with it. The lens is sharp, small and light. I bought it to photograph New York architecture. Sometimes the lens would focus and sometimes it would miss. I photographed the Manhattan Bridge from the top of Brooklyn and on several occasions the camera displayed two focus boxes indicating the bridge was in focus, but it wasn't. I kept pressing the shutter button and it again displayed the focus point on an…

This lens is great, especially for the $249 I paid. What I like best is the sharpness, light weight and ability to focus at close range. I knew about the cons after reading and reading numerous reviews: slow focusing, noisy AF and distortion. The distortion is corrected automatically in my Sony A7iii and is also corrected in the editing software so this is not a problem. AF is the price you pay and is not a deal breaker to me. The 20mm focal length is wide enough for people like me who don't…

Affordable wide-angle lens with excellent quality!

I need a lens with a larger angle than 35mm for my Sony A7riii. Seeing samples of Sony G Master 16-35 2.8, I decided to check the price. After laughing at the $2200 price tag, I had to decide between this $300 Tamron and the $900 Sigma Art 20mm 1.4. I chose this lens because I had such great experiences with my 70-200 2.8 g2 work lens. For $300 I was expecting a mediocre lens that I will regret buying. After returning from a trip to the Smoky Mountains, I was amazed at the photos captured with…

Pros
  • Handsfree
Cons
  • Very expensive

Update: I'm giving this lens a high rating because of the results I've been able to get with it. It's still not a premium build quality lens, my overall impression of the plastic is "eggshell", it buzzes at idle on your camera in manual focus mode, but it's very sharp even wide open and great for astrophotography and landscapes. Whatever its shortcomings, it's the end product that counts. - Initial Review - I wanted a 20mm lens for landscape photography and wanted to see how a $250-$300 Tamron…
