Very good nylon, works well - but the OD is far from spec

nylon, after curing there are very good prints. Like any nylon, you MUST dry it before use. My main complaint is that the outside diameter of Taulman3D filament (in my experience) is always very different from specification, sometimes being as little as 1.65mm and often having an oval cross-section. So before printing I have to measure the OD of the filament in both directions and then adjust the slicing settings based on the test prints, which is an unwanted problem. Taulman needs to improve…

The Holy Grail of 3D Printing

I was made aware of this product by a 50g sample I received. As a fairly new manufacturer I have been wary of my ability to use this product successfully as there are many horror stories about nylon. I did homework. I bought a pound of silicone gel crystals and sealed the filament with them for two weeks before deciding to try printing. I set up a closed print environment for my Ender 3 Pro, increased the temperature and bed, and started printing some keychains. They were so well received that…

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • New competitors appeared

It took me many tries to successfully 3D print Nylon 645. Here's what I found for my Creality CR-10(s):1. Always use the thaw setting and microwave for two 5-6 minute sessions immediately before printing with Nylon 645.2. Store Nylon 645 in an airtight container with desiccant when not in use.3. Dry Nylon 645 thread before use - always! I can't overestimate that! 4. Make sure you have a really good aftermarket hot end all metal extruder that can run at least 265C5. Make sure you have an extra…
