Great device if you have good eyesight.

Good device. Compact, with buttons in the right places. Exactly. good case. Problem: My eyesight isn't that great. I wear glasses. The markings in the field of view are not dark, thick and heavy like Bushnell. They're kind of thin and light. When looking through the sunglasses, it is difficult to find the displays on the screen. It's frustrating. So if you have good eyesight this is a very nice machine. Buy it instead of more expensive options. You will not regret it. BUT, if your eyes are not…

Pros
  • One year trial period
Cons
  • I won't say anything

I only used it for the first time last Sunday after receiving it on Thursday. My playmates use Bushnell and Leopold so I tested them with common rangefinders and they showed exactly the same readings. It has a tilt feature which is really good and could give them an adjusted distance. It's pretty easy and a bit hard to get on target, but it's not really used, it gets better over time and by the end of the round it got better. My partners were very impressed that it was about 1/2 times cheaper…

Pros
  • Very good value
Cons
  • Unfashionable

Used twice while playing golf. This is a great range finder for the money. Most of the problems I've found are common to all rangefinders. For example, if the flag is surrounded by clutter and is quite a distance away, it is sometimes difficult to fix it even with prisms on the flagpoles. You can move the viewfinder from side to side, but simply pointing at the flag itself got me hooked right away. I like the fact that it turns off automatically to save battery life. Still works in lean mode…

Extremely short battery life

On first use, the battery didn't even last the whole lap. I figured it might just be the cheap battery that came with it so I replaced the battery. The next few times I used it, the battery lasted about 3 rounds. When it works it's decent enough and the distance is spot on compared to my Bushnell friends that cost $300 more. It's a bit difficult to get readings at times, and it only occasionally shows the corrected incline value (even when there's an obvious uphill or downhill gradient). But…

I started reading reviews and it sounded too good to be true

I wanted to buy a range finder because my golf friend has one. He always let me use it, but there were times when he could go to the other side of the fairway and I had a critical hit and had to guess distance. I started checking rangefinders and found that they are very expensive. When I came across this range finder and it had a tilt indicator for less than $200, I got really interested. I started reading the reviews and it sounded too good to be true. But I bought it and hoped. To my…

Reliable rangefinder, great price!

Very happy with this range finder. I waited to get a few laps before I changed my mind. I will say that the distances are very accurate (I used GPS and another range finder for comparison). Tilt mode is really interesting because it makes me pick clubs differently than usual. So far, each of these changes has worked for the better. I've used this side-by-side with more expensive (Bushnell) and equally expensive rangefinders. I will say that the higher end Bushnell V4 seems a little easier to…

Big! Best in Rangefinders

A few qualifying details: Golfed since childhood (35+ years), played golf about 50 rounds a year even in a short summer in Maine, 6 handicaps, played golf app for the last 4 Year that gave me front, back and center (accuracy?) and didn't want to pay more than $300 for a range finder. Tec Tec Tec VPRO500S is the solution. I've been using it since August 17th. The distances were correct. The best test was the Scrambles, which I've been playing since I bought it. In each of them, two of my…

Outstanding range finder at a low price

I've only been using it for a week but I like it so far. It's light but feels solid - I just leave it in front of my golf cart and it hasn't taken any damage yet. It also works fast; You just hold down the power button and get a reading in about a second. The tilt adjustment mode displays two metrics: horizontal distance and tilt corrected distance. To calculate this corrected distance, the device draws a parabola ending in a pin and displays the distance at the intersection of that parabola…

Two new units both failed after minimal use

I am writing this review almost 3 years after the original purchase. I am giving this unit 1 star only for its durability and the customer service I have received from tectectec. The device itself worked well while it worked. Anytime a playmate had a range finder, I would compare my readings to theirs. It was always within 1 yard of what they had and usually their unit cost twice as much as mine. So the accuracy and ease of use is great. The problem was that it just didn't work anymore. I don't
