🔧 Tecumseh 640172 Carb Review

Goods received in advance without damage. This is exactly what I ordered and should work fine when I install it. Excellent work!

It couldn't be simpler. I removed the old carburetor and installed it. An adjustment or two and it worked. On time delivery. A little pricey, but that's the way it is. Fits perfectly.

I thought I had already replaced this carburetor on my edger but it was the carburetor on my mower. This came quickly, with the necessary gasket and screwed. My edger is working great again.

This product worked after delivery and again after 3-4 weeks! Since then it doesn't work anymore, unless I continue to spray gas into the intake with a can! I have not contacted Revain due to the time delay and am not expecting a replacement! I believe this carburetor is poorly designed so there are a large number of replacement parts on the market. I have engines from other brands in vehicles over 40 years old and have never had any problems with carburetors

For the money this is too expensive for replacement carburetors. But you get a genuine Tecumseh part, made in the Czech Republic. I could probably go with the 640350 to save some money as the bolts seem to fit, but the main difference from other carburetor models is the size of the carburetor and the direction of attachment to the valve cover. (facing the intake manifold). Model 640350 is slightly larger and has this port on the valve cover facing to the side. This carburetor comes with an…
