This is my second Tidradio. I also have UV5R. My team and I rely on it, especially in storm season. It's much easier to transport than some large radios and has a long range to keep you in touch in the field. I had a bit of trouble programming, but the support team was quick to help. Would definitely buy again.

I thought it would be great to just add a bigger antenna, long and away from the tidradio and I could go 4 to 5 miles but when you got it were under the power lines for the line. Another person it was a bit static but other than that it was great and I haven't tested it underwater but if it rains I'll try it and can't wait to use it for a bigger and longer trip, besides I used a ham repeater and connect to it to talk even further

We paid $50 each for two UHF/VHF radios. There is a specific range of frequencies that HAM radio uses, this radio does NOT operate on amateur frequencies. Only works in UHF or VHF band. Also, the printed manual says it's an IP57 radio, not IP67. When we asked the seller said IP67 - should they be trusted?
