I only wish I had to get my elliptical trainer fixed.

Needed for servicing our Vision Fitness elliptical trainer. He effectively removed the crank/pulleys so I could access the flywheel and drive gear. I didn't have to use a lot of force so I can't comment on the strength of the threads or how long they last before abrasion. I suspect care will be needed not to jam them or to properly lubricate the threads to avoid damaging the tool.

Well made, solid. Best in Cycling

I used this to remove the crank arm on an exercise bike. This is one of those tools that you won't use often, but when you need it, it works well. My only caveat is that I assumed the socket for attaching the lever to rotate was square so you could use a breaker or ratchet. It is not. It's a hex, so you'll need a hex wrench. However, you can use a wrench on the lower external hexagon. This is only practical if the crank is not too tight. But you won't know until you try to take it off.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • High price

Read reviews with photos that show how poorly made this tool is

Please read reviews that have photos that show how poorly made this tool is. I would like to have. My weekend plans are ruined because I got this tool in the mail and thought I could work on my bike and then ride. nope This tool removed one side perfectly, then completely bent the other side, tearing my grip off in the process. This is seriously a poorly made tool. This is coming from a guy who usually buys tools made in China because I'm not an experienced user. Basically, this is the only…

Poor quality but functional

APPLICATION: Remove the spindle screw from the crank (the silver side of the tool has a built in socket). Move the silver component away from the black part until it protrudes. Carefully screw the black component into the crank, this is a fine thread. You have to screw it all the way in so you don't tear the crank, but you don't need it very tight (which can also tear the crank)! Just let him sit full. Then screw in the silver bushing until it pushes the crank away from the shaft. A bad tool…

The threads didn't match well with Shimano and Suntour cranks

I'm not sure what this odd picture is supposed to show, but first the black nut needs to be screwed into the crank, and then that chrome screw into the black nut screwed to move the crank from the axle. However, the threads on the black nut did not match those on the Suntour and Shimano cranks. It took me probably 15 tries, lots of WD-40 and a bit of force to get this black walnut to fit properly. It also took some effort to thread it all the way in (the metal nut looked intact, so I probably…

Everything you need to pull out the connecting rod

This tool has a socket wrench on one end that fits into the connecting rod nut. The other end goes into the connecting rod and there is a wrench in the box to turn it. Look at the small photo. This is not the ONLY crank puller I own and NONE of my others came with a crank nut puller. Work. If you don't buy another tool to get this working, this tool is a lot cheaper as you can just use it as needed and it will get the job done. The black end can be completely unscrewed. You MUST remove it to…
