The plastic valve lever is broken.

Update 8/18/14: The manufacturer sent me a new valve with a metal lever under warranty. Rating updated to 3 stars. If a new pump came with this valve it would be 5 stars. The plastic valve lever broke after about 5 uses as other reviewers have reported. This pump is garbage. I have another JoeBlow for road tires and the lever is steel and it works great. Why they used a plastic valve lever on this pump I'll never know. Do not use this pump. It's garbage!

Pros
  • ADDITIONAL FEATURES - ball/balloon heads, hose connector
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

but my cheap 10 year old pump works fine.

This pump worked fine when I first got it and was able to hook the beads on my tubeless tire. After eight months, however, the value has diminished and it's no surprise that it's just flimsy plastic. Topeak seems to want you to buy their "Upgrade" Topeak Twinhead Bike Floor Pump Upgrade Kit. After two years the pump stopped holding air. The o-rings and spring looked ok but I bought a rebuild kit as it's not a cheap pump. Well that didn't work and I now have a lawn ornament but my cheap 10 year…

Pros
  • HEAD - TwinHead valves, Presta/Schrader/Dunlop with bleed button and extended hose
Cons
  • Low repairability

Do not buy! The plastic lock switch will cut you.

Hello! I bought this pump while looking for a good mountain bike pump. When first used, the pump lock on the valve was very tight and difficult to lock. The plastic lever felt light and threatened to break. Well, that's how it was. I contacted Revain and they were kind enough to offer me a replacement. (which is why I love Revain). As soon as I opened the new replacement pump, I knew that it would also break. I carefully locked the locking lever and locked, the plastic lever broke and cut my…

It was a great pump, too bad for Topeak that they decided to use it.

My advice to anyone purchasing this pump is to also get the Topeak Smarthead Threadlock Upgrade Kit. I bought this pump a month ago and the TwinHead lock lever, which used to be metal and is now flimsy plastic, only broke off the second time I used the pump. grrrrr, just ordered an upgrade kit today, I had a Topeak Joeblow Sport that I bought 14 years ago so I know the lever used to be metal, it was a great pump, too bad for Topeak that he went for cheap, flimsy plastic that they knew would…

Inflates tires quickly, but needs refinishing

Large bore is ideal for mountain and fat bike tires. It's bloody hard to level up multi-purpose or street units until you're blue in the face. I gave it an average rating mainly because of the caliber and ambidextrous cartridge. The former is enough to tell you "approximately" how much air is in your tires, but doesn't provide the accuracy needed to fine-tune the pressure. The latter works well, but it's a little finicky with Presta valves - it's difficult to run continuously without losing…

Pros
  • BASE - Composite
Cons
  • Available in black only

Quickly fills up mountain pipes, reliable garage pump

don't worry about $20 floor pumps - spend an extra but still reasonable $40 and get the JoeBlow Mountain. This is a high volume pump so hoses fill up fast! Just don't try to use it while seated, you need leverage. The dual head works with both Presta and Schrader valves, so you don't need adapters. I love how the gauge is at the base of the pump on top of the wide footpegs - I've had pumps with gauges that were closer to the top of the pump and they're guaranteed to fall off sooner or later. It

Pros
  • FASS - Painted steel
Cons
  • Suitable for mountain bikers

Too much effort. fits well with accessories

Updated Review: Although the Topeak pump is well built it requires a lot of pressure compared to a more expensive pump. I've since taken the Topeak back and bought a specialty pump designed for mountain bike tires and the difference between day and night. My new pump, on the other hand, seems light. To be honest, the topeak pump I received might be defective - you'll have to judge that. Since I've had my dedicated pump, I've also found it a lot easier to use when fitted with either type of…
