Poor instructions, device works

Product seems to work. The instructions are terrible. It looks like they are sending the same instructions for similar products. For example, the instructions always say to hold down the button for a second. It doesn't work on my device. You just press the button and release without pausing. The installation went smoothly after I figured out this instruction error. Using the WPS button on my router, it was easy to load the existing WiFi SSID/password settings into the new WiFi extender. One…

Shocking speeds are the best in powerline network adapters

At the same time, setup was incredibly easy - literally took 30 seconds. and to my great surprise, they do not block the bottom plugs when plugged into the TOP outlet of a standard two-outlet outlet. Fiction. So far, so good. Everything was great until I connected and noticed that the connection seemed terribly slow. I did a speed test and I get a QUARTER of 1MB. This is a gigabit fiber optic connection with a maximum speed of 1000 Mbit/s. So that's 1/4000th the speed of my wired internet…

YMMV: Expensive for 70Mbps over Ethernet

It was easy to set up. Followed the instructions and everything worked pretty quickly. I also tried the WPS button to change the SSID to my current WiFi network. It worked fine too. A trick: In my case it tried to do WPS for 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. But my router stopped after the first pairing! I was confused why it wouldn't connect both. The trick was to start WPS on the router, touch Wifi on the device once the first pair of frequencies (LED lit), go back to the router and press WPS again to…

Powerline extender AND WiFi repeater in one - just what I needed

::Update!::After two months of use, the side of the WiFi extender seems to be cracked. We have a Fios connection that should have a wired DL speed of up to 100Mbps. After disconnecting and reconnecting, these speeds are reached. In minutes. After about half an hour of use or less, the device begins to bottleneck and the wired connection drops to 7.5 Mbps or worse. Wi-Fi suffers a similar degradation. It could just be a faulty unit (and most likely it is) but I caution buyers that this product…

Difficult product to rate

This is a difficult review. There were problems, but I haven't determined the cause yet. I bought this product because my powerline adapters were not stable, so I decided to replace them with this product. I chose this particular line of products because I have had good luck with the tp-link router in the past. Ironically, when I plugged the powerline adapter into an outlet while it was plugged into the router. The tp-link router is out of order. After some debugging and assistance from tp-link

The difference between the schemes is very different.

I wanted to use this product to get better performance than my WiFi in a room with poorer wireless coverage. When I received the device, I ran some tests. These cases were as follows and are also listed in the attached figures.1. Shortest path 2. Same circuit 3. Adjacent circuit 4. Different electrical circuit I went to the device configuration page and was pleased to find that it has a bandwidth reporting tool that allows me to see the actual performance between the two powerline transceivers.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Requires an outlet

Easy Peasy is good for networking products

Let me just say this: I never thought Powerline would be good for me because of the distance and age of the wiring in the house. I was wrong. I bought it because my home office is in the basement and my cable modem/wireless router is on the second floor. I had decent reception but nothing special and it made VOIP calls difficult and downloads were too slow - didn't get any work done. That's why I bought this powerline adapter. I wasn't even sure it would work - my house is 90 years old and I…

Doesn't work: Computers and accessories

So I got this as a quick and easy way to access the internet upstairs without running ethernet cables and cheaper than moca. I figured I wouldn't get full internet speed with this device, and that's okay, but I was optimistic. I have Internet 100Mb / 10Mb from the provider. I usually get 85-95MB down and 7-8MB when testing wired speeds. With the EoP device connected with the included cables, I only got 30-40 megabytes of input and 4-6 megabytes of input. I looked at the cables and they are…
