Absolute rubbish in client mode

Bought to provide an ethernet bridge to my 5Ghz WiFi for devices without their own WiFi. This was the cheapest option I found that supported 5GHz and was POE. Well I got what I paid for, easy to set up but shuts down after a few minutes. After 5 minutes it will reconnect for another 2-3 minutes before failing again. I spent 2 hours of my morning searching their forums for problems to see if I could solve them. There are countless posts about the same problem I had with client mode in multi-SSID

Pros
  • Top marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Almost everything ok

I have a studio in my backyard that is too far from our router to reliably get a good signal. An ethernet cable runs from the router to the studio for my desktop computer. But sometimes I wish Wi-Fi was there for both my laptop and my phone. I just checked speedtest.net. My wired laptop has a download speed of 92 Mbps, my phone, which uses a Wi-Fi signal, has 63 Mbps. It's certainly very close to the router, I'm sitting at my desk. It drops from 55 to 58 across the room and to 35 in the…

So far so good after 1 week of using the Wireless Bridge.

I set mine up in a hurry. I was in a hurry. The getting started guide made it super easy, I logged into the web interface, connected to my existing WiFi and in about a minute I had the internet "wired" in my bedroom for my gaming PC. Added an 8-port switch, port 1 connected to TP-Link, now my secondary PC and M1 Mac Mini are "hardwired". Using it at 5GHz gives you an excellent signal through 2 walls. The hotspot (bridge) is on top of one of my computer towers, a few inches from the wall my desk

Pros
  • Decent performance

Does the job but needs to support Poe standards

There was no manual in the box but setup was as easy as it gets. I scanned the QR code on the back of the device and connected immediately. Back then it was just a matter of connecting to the web config to update the admin password. Maybe I make it a little easier than for others because I'm a bit tech savvy. I logged into my router to see the device's IP address before logging in. But I could possibly see how other people might not know how to do it. One thing that could potentially make this…

Not impressed - Very slow wifi speed

N300 (newer model) = TL-WA801N Nice appearance. But the setup was easy. I don't see anything close to the advertised speed. I connect an ethernet cable to my laptop, run a speed test and see a download speed of 288 Mbps. I connect an Ethernet cable from my laptop to the N300, connect my laptop to the N300 via WiFi and see less than 30 Mbps. This is less than 10% of the advertised speed. (The laptop was within 3 feet of the N300 during this test.) I may need to tweak a few things, but it's a lot

Pros
  • Nice touch
Cons
  • Doubtful purchase for the elderly

Repeat after me first: This (TL-WA801N) is a $20 hotspot. LAUGH OUT LOUD. That's it. Let's take a look at what you get: Performance: I wasn't expecting peak performance, but I was hoping it would hit its 100Mbps LAN port operating limit (more on that later, read on), which I did couldn't. At a distance of about 20 inches, just before the peak of the parabolic signal, I peaked at about 80Mbps with no obstacles. My other access points at the same test site peaked on our home Internet connection…

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
