The best $50 antenna you will ever buy!

Ignore all the lame bad reviews. There are no instructions, it broke in a heavy storm, what size mast is suitable etc. Plug it into an SDR receiver and scan the RF spectrum and you will be amazed at how well it works! One of the hidden gems of radio receivers for receiving antenna. Surprisingly broadband. If you're looking for a TX antenna I see no reason why it shouldn't work on UHF and VHF, but transmission isn't what the Disco Cone was designed for. I really have a problem when people have…

Model 1410 (one level down) is better for scanner users.

Well I compared this to a TRAM 1410 antenna ($8 cheaper) and blindly decided to step up. The 1410 turned out to be exactly what I needed and the long spool loading top and matched radials were meant for CB transmission only. I only hear through a scanner or SDR so I don't need those features. In fact, I think the extra baggage is affecting my VHF/UHF reception, so I'm actively considering sawing off the center-loaded coil to make it a simple discone like the TRAM 1410. I removed the coil cover…

Just a quick review / first impression.

I received the box this afternoon and opened it quickly. All parts are correct and in good condition. Be careful not to throw away some of the hex nuts with the packaging. Three of them came loose in transit and were in plastic bags but not attached to anything. Be aware of this. It looks like assembly will be very easy since everything just rotates. The instructions are easy to read, as are the limited graphics. The only thing that worries me a little is that the base build isn't 100%…

The tram makes 2 trips. Is this the one you want? It can be very good!

The tram makes two U-turns. One has a whip and two longer radials and the other has no whip but all radials are the same size. what do you choose Judging by the photo I have both. The one with the whip is on one side of my house, on my HF vertical side, and is used for my 2m/440 HT and the one without the whip is on an offset mast under my 2m/440 whip and is Used for my scanner. Why are two of them on opposite sides of the house? This one with the stylus detuned my 2m antenna so I had to use…

A truly broadband multifunction antenna.

An interesting looking antenna, sort of an artistic interpretation of a stainless steel rod comet. It's easy to assemble, but it takes a little time to tighten the many lock nuts. Due to its light weight and wind resistance, it can be used with a TV antenna. It is primarily intended as a receiving antenna that covers a very wide frequency range. However, it resonates on the 2m and 70cm Ham bands and seems to transfer quite well there. The antenna is advertised with CB power supply. The two…

Good antenna

I bought this antenna after Christmas to install a scanner (Christmas present) in my Ham Shack. I also wanted to be able to use it with the old CB I had. not used for many years due to lack of antenna. I chose this particular antenna because it can receive and transmit HF (CB), VHF and UHF frequencies. I installed an antenna switch so it can be easily switched between my CB, Uniden scanner and RTL SDR pan adapter receiver. That works great. The only issue I had was that when I originally…

Must read info

I bought this for CB (11 meters) but didn't want to attach an 18ft 1/2 bar. Also wanted a scanner and hoped it would work well for both of them. You may think that you don't need much information about the instructions, but I had a lot of unanswered things that I went through and I hope this review helps those who have similar questions, so here it is. The packaging was minimal but it had everything and nothing. was damaged. Several people have noticed and a question has been asked about the…
