Description of 🔌 TRENDnet Powerline 500 AV Nano Adapter Kit - 2 x TPL-406E Adapters - Cross Compatible With Powerline 600-500-200 - Windows 10, 8.1, 8, 7, Vista, XP - Plug & Play Installation - White - TPL-406E2K

ADAPTERS: Includes two TPL-406E adapters. Two adapters are needed to start a network. Use up to 8 adapters to network devices in different rooms without running new cabling. EXPAND YOUR NETWORK: Connect one adapter to your router and plug another adapter into an outlet on your electrical system for instant high-speed network access. ETHERNET PORT: The Powerline 500 AV adapters have an Ethernet Port that extends high performance wired connections. Convenient Ethernet port that allows you to hardwire a computer, smart TV, or other network enabled device. QUICK SETUP: Get up and running in minutes with the intuitive guided setup. Simply plug in the TRENDnet powerline Ethernet adapters! The encrypted Powerline signal auto-connects over an existing electrical system. Easy no-CD installation. SMALL PROFILE: The compact form factor of the powerline adapter kit stays off the ground by plugging directly into an outlet. Powerline performance could be degraded if plugged into a power strip, GFCI outlets, and AFCI circuit breakers. Old circuit wiring in homes and devices that generate high amounts of electrical noise could also affect performance.

Stops working sporadically

I've had one for a little over a year. Overall I would not recommend them. I use them in a single family home. 1-2 times a month they stop transferring data. You then have to try turning off the devices one at a time for 30-60 seconds and sometimes multiple times to get them working again. This is a problem in my setup as the plug is behind the TV and not easily accessible. The router is two stories above. Right before writing this review I had to unplug and plug it back in 3 times for it to…

Zero security but easy to use

First: You create a huge security hole. They pair with each other automatically. So if you have an outlet on the street or live in an apartment complex, they will instantly connect to your network in case someone else has one. I would prefer at least one pairing button that has a short window of time. Now that some of the insecurity is gone and you still don't really care about the security of your network, these things are very easy to use. The devices are interchangeable between client or…

Decent price when on sale

Bought a pair of these for 19.99. In this price range they are worth 3 stars. At their usual higher price I would give them less stars because they really aren't that good. It's a good concept, but not quite what they advertise. My guess is that if I plug one of them onto the bottom output and the other onto the top output just above, then yes, they'll get the "500Mbps" they advertise. In reality, I'm constantly getting 20-40 Mbit from one room to another. Less than 1/10 of the specified…

Loss of connectivity on networking products

I had a local box on top and a remote box on bottom. It was PlugNPlay, simple, it worked out of the box with no configuration. Strangely, on the 3rd day, the remote block lost internet. I disconnected it for a few minutes and then reconnected but there is no internet, repeated several times to no avail, the LEDs all the time say everything is normal. I installed the Power Packet Utility for diagnostics and the local device showed up with no problems. But every time I unplug/plug a remote…

, unbalanced, unshielded power lines. However, I have had good experiences with other Trendnet products and hoped they would impress me, but unfortunately they were disappointing. I was trying to extend the ethernet network to a room in my small office that is not connected to the network. We're talking up to 20 feet away. I've tried plugging the main unit (which is connected to the wired internet) into almost every outlet in my office. I found a place where there was *some* connection, but the

Short version $35 for two, that's cheap. The basic setup couldn't be much simpler. Plug a powerline adapter into an outlet and connect it to your router with the included cable. Plug the other cable into an outlet near the device to be connected, connect the supplied cable to the power adapter and the device. In less than a minute he is connected to the Internet. Would you like to add more? Just buy more and connect them. I only use four, with three streaming TVs connected. TVs that used to…

Excellent. for several days

Product: TRENDnet TPL-406E2K We have a Wi-Fi dead zone and I avoid running cables just because I have to work in two basements with a false ceiling in between. Then I saw this little kit and realized that for the price it saves me a lot of work and it's not much more expensive than cables, plugs, wall plates etc. I was about to write a glowing review for the first time. I installed the kit one day and even emailed a friend saying how awesome it is. It was surprisingly easy to set up, and…

Easy to set up. I live in an apartment complex with at least 40 Wi-Fi networks in range competing for the 2.4GHz band. I was unable to stream video content due to traffic jams. I installed the PowerLine adapter so my Blu-ray player is now connected via ethernet and the power grid in my apartment. No more crashes, interference or problems as I don't use WiFi at all. I have a dual band WiFi router and I'm using the 5GHz band with a Samsung Galaxy S4 mobile phone and a 2014 10.1 tablet. So I no…

  • I don't remember, but there was something

My internet service is ADSL through my landline but I live in an apartment with only a phone jack near the front door and I wanted to find my computer. at the other end of the living room. I tried to do this with a Wi-Fi router, but then the router was interfering with my cordless phone because the cordless phone base was too close to the router. I had three options: a) Disconnect the router from the cordless phone base, b) Disconnect the cordless phone, c) Run an ethernet cable or a phone cord
