Internet era update required but still security standard

I emailed Tripp-Lite about this filter issue and THEY CALL ME. I almost died. They confirmed that this is almost identical to the AVBAR10, except for the joule rating, so whatever's cheaper, go crazy. One star deducted because: - NOBODY needs all those coax connectors. I'd rather have just one input that splits into two outputs and an included plug when not in use. Two pairs of Ethernet ports are required so that I can protect the incoming WAN port and the outgoing LAN port on the same router…

It seems to work.

I tried to do a lot of research before purchasing this particular Isobar 10 Outlet Audio/Video Surge Protector. I use it as the primary protection for a high performance computer and its associated modem, router, monitor, etc. The device looks well built and I have no reason to believe that it won't do the job. I don't use security to connect to high speed cables or phones, but would love to do some research on that as well. This device is like you could drop it out of an airplane and it still…

Excellent quality as expected from Tripp-Lite

You can count on this surge protector - trust me I'm an engineer lol. There are only three things worth mentioning, but other than that it works great. 1) The "Ground" LED is RED, indicating that no AC ground fault has been detected. The other two LEDs light up GREEN. So I think they should all be GREEN, but that's okay. 2) The #1 coax bulkhead output connector nut is loose inside, which is bad. Ultimately, this will likely twist and break the internal connection. There are a total of 3 coaxial

There are better options at lower prices

I would probably NOT buy this again. After reading professional reviews and the fine print, this unit loses power after a protection fault! Of course, this is a premium protector with reinforced protective components. I have an old 4 port isobar that has been in constant use for almost 20 years. The probability of failure of the protective circuit is quite low. However, APC promises never to power your devices in the event of a circuit failure. I figured that buying a more expensive metal case…

Without Gigabit Ethernet

Please read carefully, this product manufactured and sold in 2020 only supports 100Mbps Ethernet. No gigabit for you! 1gbps == no workie, just 100Mbps!

  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons

This is VERY high quality. I use them professionally.

I install home theater systems to make a living. I buy these units for use with larger home theater setups (with multiple units such as game consoles, video streamers, Blu-ray players, etc.). For smaller systems I use the 6-port model (see below). Here are the reasons I use these devices: 1) Quality. I only use high quality products in client installations. These devices differ qualitatively both in terms of characteristics and appearance. 2) protection. These surge protectors have a surge…

excellent protection for accessories and consumables

I did a little research and found that conventional surge protectors of all major brands have quite high clamping voltages. From HowStuffWorks.com; Tom Harris - http://electronics.howstuffworks.com/everyday-tech/surge-protector7.htm Voltage - this tells you what voltage is causing the MOV to conduct current to the ground wire. A lower clamping voltage indicates better protection. All those $30-$50 Belkin surge protectors - basically, most plastic case surge protectors have a clamping voltage…

Expensive power strip

This device has a metal housing and stable sockets. Minus - the protection of the Internet and cable did not work. After routing the cables according to the instructions: 1. Connect the cable box to the input. 2. Connect the coaxial cable to the output via LAN connections. I have to use Xfinity, there is no choice, there is a big minus with them. However since my internet is Xfinity with Arris 8200 I had no internet. My Asus WiFi worked fine, but without internet it's useless. I tried several…

Big coverage, big powerhouse

This is my second Tripp Lite light bar I've bought. The cover is what sells it for me, hope I never have to use it. The length of the cord is long, with a rectangular plug head to prevent the cord from kinking and to keep furniture closer to the wall when installed in an entertainment center. Inside the box are several cables that look like a coaxial cable, an ethernet cable, and a phone cable. There are ten ports, each labeled for a specific device, but that's just a name, there doesn't appear

The computer started in seconds. Perfect!

I had an expensive Panamex 10 years ago. In the meantime I bought a new desktop and it seemed slow to start up. I bought this Tripp Lite because we had the occasional power outage and didn't want a model that kept beeping. This model comes in a giant Revain package and box. Metal, has 10 outlets, 2 phone, 2 ethernet. It doesn't have a USB port, but that's not a big deal or even what I need. The jacks are labeled, and along with the labels is a phone cord, an ethernet cord, and some sort of…
