Effortlessly Chop and Toss with Trudeau Salad Tongs - An Essential Kitchen Tool! Review

I got this because I saw it in a Pamper Chef demo and I liked the idea. The price is much lower than Pamper Chef, although I've never owned a Pamper Chef, the quality is good, strong and durable. It's a little tight when cutting, but it works really well. You have to be careful when cleaning the blades, but I am very good at cutting the lettuce into small pieces at will in a short time. Very handy when trying to make a salad.

I've had several of these and they really make chopping veggies and salads easier. The reason for the 3 star rating is this: everything is fine until the spring falls out and disappears. This has happened to me on all of them because the spring is not permanent or even tight, so you have to be very careful when cleaning not to lose the spring. The main downside if you ask me. Super strong, sharp and durable. However, took another reviewer's advice and held the tongs upside down to cut straight into the bowl instead of sideways. I had the MAJOR cobb lettuce from the big store but I definitely prefer smaller pieces of everything so I turned it into a sliced cobb lettuce and it was PERFECT. Chop large chunks of lettuce (obviously), grape tomatoes, apple and celery chunks, all in minutes. Delicious! Cleaning was easy; hot water and a brush. (Beware of sharp blades!)

Love them for cutting lettuce! They work great. I can add a lot more salad dressings to my salad. However, they are quite difficult to use, they need to be squeezed out strongly.
