Just what we need! Fits well in the corner of the aquarium, works great, a great way to provide filtration without a hanging filter or the need to have something outside of the aquarium. Can't recommend enough

This is a good filter if you don't have a sump. I have this in my 55 gallon column tank but am looking for something else right now. Pros: Fairly Cons: The surface skimmer doesn't work at all. Even if nothing is packed in, you can see that it does not let water through at the top either. It still leaves an uncomfortable surface layer. Not much control over the direction of the flow, even with the plastic piece directing the water.

Although some find it difficult to disassemble the unit for cleaning, I agree, the most annoying thing is the change in output water flow as you have to disassemble it to adjust. Weekly cleaning of the filter media is very easy, just lift the lid and replace the media. I am currently using Ceramic Rings and Crystal Clear which work great. I believe that surface suction provides the best water quality you can get.

I bought Tunze Filter, Protein Skimmer and Auto Top-off based on comments and ratings on Revain and other websites and am very disappointed. Magnetic mounts on filters and skimmer do not hold. Don't hold the magnets, they hold. Only the brackets they are attached to are useless. They fall off the filter and slide easily into the aquarium. I had to use aquarium silicone as the glue to attach the mounts to both the filter and skimmer. And the wiring of a self-priming pump is a godsend. The water…
