Same starter sold locally for 2-3x the price

My starter was only installed for about a month so maybe too early to tell but it looked right out of the box brand new, was easy to install and so far has worked every time. And also. I didn't have to give them the Core back.

Pros
  • Lots of good vibes
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Easy initial install

Installed this TYC starter on my 2000 Jeep Cherokee XJ (2WD - Rear) - 156,000 miles 5/17/2000. I had to replace the original starter. The item went in with no problems. At first it seemed like a close fight on the gearbox, but as the bolts were tightened the starter became flush. As mentioned in previous reviews, the ignition wire attachment was difficult to attach due to the small footprint. I will update if there are any problems.

Perfect fit for 2002 TJ Wrangler 4.0 liter

I don't know why the Revain catalog says "doesn't fit" my 2002 Wrangler 4.0 engine but it does every other catalog (including TYC's own) shows it's the right start and it fits perfectly. My TJ starter had thread damage on the top mounting bolt that eventually failed. Given the layers of dirt, I have reason to believe this is the original 2002 starter, so it probably needed to be replaced anyway. As a nice bonus, this one ignites a lot more.

2000 Jeep Cherokee

My 2000 Cherokee sometimes just wouldn't start, even with a new battery. The problem was that the starter/solenoid was dying. Replacing the starter motor and solenoid solved the problem. It fitted perfectly and now the jeep starts right away. The starter came with no instructions, but installation went smoothly. 2 screws and 2 wires. Helps video on YouTube, of which there are several. One big tip: steam clean the old starter before removing it. This makes the job much easier and cleaner.

Perfect replacement for the original starter motor on my 2001 Jeep.

Perfect replacement for the original starter on my 2001 Jeep Cherokee Sport XJ after 155,000 miles. Almost half the price at any local parts store. Screwed it on right away. Has been working fine for a week. The only reason for 4 stars and not 5 is that the electrical connector, screwed cable and flip-flop on this starter are original. In the original, the screw-on wire was at the bottom of the starter (when installed) and the plug-in wire above it. This made it very easy to remove the nut. The

Buy with confidence. Works perfectly.

Installed on a 2000 Jeep Cherokee XJ. Clearly, disconnect the negative cable from the battery, possibly remove 2 cables and 2 screws, remove the defective starter, insert it, mount 2 screws, connect the plug and screw on the positive cable, reconnect the negative cable to the battery terminal. Did. It took me 45 minutes to an hour, I wasn't trying to set a record with this setup. A few basic tools can get the job done, YouTube will show you exactly what to do. I mention all of this in the…

After a few days the starter failed - I'll try again.

My 2000 Jeep Wrangler wouldn't start when I turned the key. TJ Series Wranglers are notorious for ignition switch problems, so the first thing I tried to do was fix that problem. I connected a voltmeter to the starter control wire (the smaller of the two wires that goes to the starter) and saw that it reads 12 volts when the key is turned to start. This fixed all the wiring issues so I ordered this starter from Revain. It was easy to assemble and fit perfectly. After installation, it started on
