Broke after 1 season of use.

Out of service after 1 season. Examination of the inner braided copper wire showed noticeable discoloration at the junction of the bimetallic strip. The normal current draw from the AC line was 29A, so this error was probably caused by a high resistance at this connection point. The current path on side A was measured at 0.5 ohms while the other was about 2.5 ohms, so I concluded that the bimetal connection with the braided wire on side B was failing. I installed a new UBIF260N, I hope this one

Pros
  • Tools and household goods
Cons
  • I don't remember

Matches my old Federal Pacific switch panel. I had to add an extra 60 amp circuit breaker box and it worked perfectly. It fits perfectly in the room. I added one for some woodworking equipment a few years ago and bought it from Revain. Used 5-10 years, all ok. These switches are hard to find and very expensive if you order from a local supplier (my local supplier said it was probably a few hundred dollars). Thank god for Revane.

Pros
  • Magnetic Circuit Breaker
Cons
  • High Price

Failure for the third time

Of course, any product can fail, and this one hit it. I hooked up a 48A stove as the only short throw (less than 15 feet). I've used the oven 3 times and now the breaker kicks on after a few minutes. I measured 49.5A on one side and 50.2A on the other side of the breaker. Not even close to the 60A rating. I noticed a slight humming noise when turning the oven on, but I didn't attach any importance to it. Now I'm not sure if that wasn't an early sign of impending failure. Now I have to decide if
