Radially relieved for a strong smooth cut in addition to avoiding rubbing and burning. Used on CNC and other automatic routers as well as hand held and table mounted portable routers. The finger joint bit is not reversible. Avoid reverse rotation of finger joint bit which is very easy to damage.

Difficult to set up, wood needs to be replaned.

Let me start by saying that this drill press is difficult to use and set up. Second, the bond it makes is so strong that I couldn't get it to work with finished wood. It never came out right. However, I got it working with raw wood that was eventually cut to thickness. No matter how meticulous you are, it will never be perfect if you don't trim it down afterwards. I used it to laminate 1" pieces of raw poplar, then planed down to 5/8" for the boxes. This has created a beautiful seam that even…

Save your money, buy a better beat.

may work for softwood but not hardwood. Cuts normally, smoothly, as it should be. However, no amount of tweaking can fix the fact that you can't tighten the connection tightly. It just doesn't fit. I've spent a few hours playing with this and figuring out what I'm doing wrong. It turns out it's a beat. The boards are stretched even before they are fully contracted. What a headache. Works great and here's a tip on how to get it right

I read that another reviewer was annoyed with bad results because they thought the bit wasn't made right. I just spent an hour testing the resulting bit and realized that if you're getting poor results, this could be your technique. The wrong way to use this bit is to set it once, skip the board, then flip the counter board and skip it. The profiles will not match exactly this way, even if the bit is perfectly centered.
