While I agree that the hole is a bit small, I would prefer it over too big. Drilling into plastic or fiberglass is likely to be slightly larger due to friction. A metal rat tail file works very well, just check the fit often. For a good centered cut I pre-drilled a hole in the middle of where I wanted to place the camera and then used a hole saw. This camera works but the image is too big. After much preparation, I mounted it on the trunk handle of my 2005 Dodge Ram 1500. No, no matter how hard I tried to set the corner, I couldn't see my clutch. When I got the view as close to the hitch as possible, about 2 feet away, all I could see was the ground. Installed the camera last week. The picture is pretty good. The image has permanent guides on the bottom half of the image and a reminder not to rely on the camera for backup on the top (if I remember correctly) of the image.
