I've been testing these lights for a long time and find them pretty cool. Yes, the main light is basically a decent handlebar mount flashlight. I don't see that as a problem. I have some very expensive custom bike lights and they are pretty much the same. Almost every bike light that has a battery and attaches to the handlebars is just a flashlight that attaches to the handlebars. Everything is good!
