Bottom seam came undone on first use

I bought a few of these and the red and orange are fine but the first time I filled in the yellow I noticed that when I got back from the gas station to find it was leaking in the back of my truck and was sitting on a half inch thick rubber liner. I'm very disappointed with this as these cans cost $30 to $40 each. I checked the stitching on the bottom where they connect and everything looked fine but I realized it wasn't - very disappointed in this one!

  • Consistent in testing

quality can. If you do this for .

Quality box. If you're using this for standard home hardware, do yourself a favor. Install a street socket on the cap (90 degree male thread), 3/4 inch, or use a 45 degree elbow from the cap to the hose. Much easier to use and repairs any vent cap leaks. Be sure to use Teflon tape on the connectors. Of course, you can always buy a federally approved canister that will spray gas anywhere, certified by government rocket scientists who have probably never used a gas canister because they all haveโ€ฆ

2 out of 3 leaking bottom hem after first use

2 out of 3 leaking bottom hem on first use! Bought 2 of these. The first leaked out from under the bottom seam. I saw a leak soon enough and switched to an empty one. Got a replacement through Amazon (couldn't ship the old one due to fuel residue). I got a new one and filled both. Kicked one out and left the other in the garage. He, too, began to leak from the seam and flowed all over the garage. I don't dare store fuel in the third now. Aside from not holding fuel, they work great.

Pros
  • Ideal for a small home

  • Minor issues

Buy with caution! for tools and equipment

These are generally excellent fuel tanks and come in a variety of colors to suit your fuel needs. If you buy them directly from VP Fuels, Revain or another reputable supplier, they will be of good quality and free from defects. However, I've recently found a few vendors on Revain who are selling what must have been a 'second' fuel jug. The corners were very thin, wrinkled easily and, more importantly, the fuel vent on the handle was improperly shaped and didn't allow for ventilation. All in all

The bottom seam was patchy

I've read a few reviews that the bottom seam was a problem but I already have a few of these and mine are all fine (the ones I have I have bought at a local store). refueling). I ordered this yellow because my local store only stocks red and white and when it arrived I saw what everyone was complaining about. The bottom seam looked like they didn't even touch. There were obvious marks on it from someone trying to mend the seam with glue or something. the stitching was clearly defective andโ€ฆ

3 year update: still using these pitchers with no signs of wear or breakage! BTW, these pitchers easily hold 6 gallons. We used those gas cans from the big department stores and spilled gas everywhere while we were fueling our mowers. VP Motorsport's pitcher is a big improvement over banks with government-mandated security features that don't work. We screwed a 3/4" PVC threaded nipple into the hole above, then added a threaded elbow and another threaded nipple as shown in the pictures. Theโ€ฆ

Hope they don't leak

They were bought for generator gas during Florida hurricane season. i hate the government mandatory crappy gas canisters that take 15 minutes to pour 5 gallons. So far I'm not a big fan of these pitchers. You are very thin. I've tested them for leaks with water and know the floors don't leak. I hope nothing changes with the gas. I immediately ordered 2 green and 2 silver. Two days later I received the lilac alone, without a box, with a shipping label wrapped around the handle. The sticker onโ€ฆ
