I didn't realize these were waterproof when I ordered them - just was thrilled with the design. They feel a bit odd but are still comfortable and look good on. It's surprising how handy a pair of waterproof socks are -- I hadn't realized how often water soaks thru my sneakers in wet grass especially. These do keep my toes dry and not squishy! I had originally wanted them for snow work, since often while snowblowing and such, some snow gets down in the boots and the foot gets wet.
