Doesn't always last

They're soft, but some keep falling off! The puppies I've dressed them to are only two days old and I've had to dress them at least 6 times! If someone had puppies of the same colour/marking and more than one at a time (fortunately there has only been one so far) it would be easy to mix up the puppies, making it almost impossible to keep records by colour. Also, I keep the puppy crate clean but they keep rolling and rolling, and even more so because mom brought them to her kennel a few timesโ€ฆ

Too long for newborns but they work well with age

We had a second litter of medium to large breed puppies (Weimaraner) and wanted to track them by birth weight. I cut off a few inches so they don't have too much loose fabric but just enough for it to be loosened up each day. Two weeks later I bought another set and this time I didn't cut them. This set grew with them until I put them all in real collars for large puppies around 7-8 weeks old. Velcro teeth catch everything and washing doesn't remove what's stuck in the teeth, so some of themโ€ฆ

Velcro missing at one end.

As a breeder, I faced a dilemma: how do I properly identify my puppies? This style of collar seems to be the best available on the market. However, this brand only comes with Velcro on one end. So if you have large breeds that grow quickly, you don't need to trim them, and the lack of Velcro on the other end makes the collars more prone to unraveling, which isn't a good thing. So not as sure as it could be. Additionally, as another reviewer put it, light collars are virtually indistinguishableโ€ฆ

Great item for collars, harnesses and leashes

I've tried other similar collars in the past and all the collars were stiff and the bottom had velcro all over which was terrible for newborn puppies. However, these collars are very soft and only about 2 inches on one end of the collar is attached with Velcro. Rather than trimming them, I just wrap them around the puppy's neck a few times and move the collar around as he/she grows. the only bad thing about them is if they get lint from a blanket or velcro hair then they won't hold up and inโ€ฆ

Get the job done best with collars, harnesses and leashes

We breed dogs and they are great when puppies are just born but the cloth material obviously gets dirty quite quickly. So I would advise you to avoid soft colors like white and similar green/aqua tones. (over time they will start to look brown or gray and it will be difficult to tell puppies of a similar color apart) However if you want to take your time we also wash them in the sink to keep the color nice and light and clean (of course you have to the puppies will be collarless for this, so Iโ€ฆ
